By deployment of Workday it was possible to bring structure to a traditional SDLC environment incorporating Business Process change, a new legislative regime and multiple vendors. As Revenue Recognition is usually part of an integrated deployment, this implementation was heavily dependent on integrations to maintain source data from the Oracle Financials System of Record and to provide Revenue Recognition data to the Corporate Data Warehouse, an important critical path item in the project planning activity.Collaborative Solutions – November 2007 – July 2016Project Manager / DirectorAs a Workday Project Manager for the United Nations Agency, Robert directed the six-month stabilization and value realization phase of a platform deployment including full HCM, absence, benefits, talent, compensation, North American Payroll and Financials functionality. He facilitated the incremental scope of Recruitment functionality and WHO compensation structure and range changes to the salary structures. He co-led the transition of the post-production environment to a stable and predictable structured environment. Robert was an active member of the Executive Steering Committee, including presentation of the Monthly Status Report.Project Manager for full global deployment of Workday HCM for a European Bank, implementing Workday in high opportunity and emerging markets and other global financial services centers including London and New York for 1,200 employees. Challenges included complex global Testing Management and user requirements. Delivered functionality to budget and time within a developing international legislative framework. Modules include core HCM, Benefits functionality, Absence, Performance and Compensation. Payroll support was provided with integrations to the major markets and reporting for the other countries. The project included the first Russian deployment of WorkdayProject Manager of the full lifecycle, deployment for $1.5 billion endowment major nonprofit organization implementing Workday in the US, UK and Hungary as their first system of record for the HR organization, of 2,000 employees. The phase 1, Core HCM Workday deployment was a major contributor in navigating towards consistency of HR processes, operations and services throughout the organization where few structures had existed before. Major challenges during this project included the identification, collection, cleansing and collation of data into Workday format and protocol. Initial Project Manager for international Workday HCM project, based in Chicago, implementing Workday in 65 countries for a $6 billion manufacturing organization with 14,000 employees. The project focusing on transforming the HR role and processes within the organization including a major outsourcing of some HR operations to a third-party. Functionality included core HCM, Benefits, talent, absence management, performance, and payroll interfaces. Extensive interfaces to other internal and external systems were required. Senior Project Manager / Director for multinational Food Producer and distributor. A company of $7.7 billion revenue and 17,500 employees, Robert established the project to deploy HCM, Absence, Talent, Recruiting, Succession Planning, and integrations to ADP Payroll. This included guiding the project through design workshops, establishing project management, project financials and PMO cadence. Rescue & Recovery Project ManagerAfter the initial experience of a deeply failing Workday project that was under-scoped and under-budgeted, a $5B global chemical materials company engaged Robert as the Project Manager for the turnaround of the initial full deployment and subsequent Phase 2 projects. He quickly established an excellent relationship with the client and drove the planning and strategy phases for North American scope of a global Phase 1 deployment project. The scope included HCM, Benefits, Absence, Talent, Base Complementation and Global Payroll Interface functionality in 27 countries leading to a hugely successful deployment. He facilitated the testing management, and the initial system and user acceptance testing sessions in Hong Kong and Singapore.Engaged as the Workday Project Manager by a $5B high street retail organization with 28,000 U.S. employees for the full-life cycle deployment. Functional scope included core HCM, Benefits, Absence, Advanced Compensation, Talent and Onboarding. The implementation included over 25 integrations to internal and external systems such as ADP payroll interfaces. Robert drove the project to an on-time and on-budget delivery, including some diverse ESS and MSS challenges for regional and store associates, resulting in a highly referenceable customer.
