PE Boys/ Girls Physical Education (Graduation Requirement)-Sports, Aerobic Fitness circuits, Monthly Fitness Testing, Quizzes, Tests,

Reading, Writing listening speaking assignments as well as Introduction to Physiological concepts and Nutrition. Girls PE and Cardio Fitness ma include; Yoga, Pilates, Step Aerobics, Kick Boxing, Circuits & MHC Monday (Making Healthy Choices)

Weight Training- Weight Room workouts and Monthly Fitness testing to include Tests, Quizzes and Reading Writing Assignments

Net & Lifetime Sports – predominately sports, tournaments, games indoor – outdoor Tests, Quizzes and Reading Writing Assignments

Cardio Fitness- Predominately aerobic, anaerobic and flexibility workouts; Yoga, Pilates, Step Aerobics, Kick Boxing, Circuits, Challenging students coordination, agility, speed, balance, strength, flexibility and endurance. Tests, Quizzes, Reading, Writing

Assignments and Introduction to Physiological concepts and Nutrition. 

[pic]OBJECTIVE For the student to understand the importance of exercise, improve their current level of fitness, nutrition choices, and health ~ wellness awareness. As well as improve upon the holistic development of all students by improving their English Language Arts and Literacy in Health and PE.

[pic] EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENTS

1. Be on time, in the locker room prior to the bell; 5-10 min before & after class to change & Remain in the locker room until the bell.

2. PE Uniform REQUIRED to dress-out BY: __________________purchase in V.G. Bookstore, Athletic shoes suggested,

School Dress Code applies, in ALL Classes NO Street Cloths, NO Short Shorts, NO Spaghetti or racer back tank tops, NO

large Jewelry, NO Street Shoes, NO spandex only shorts….Alternative workout wear can be worn, teacher approval needed.

3. Participate in each class activity (Physical activity, Physical testing, worksheets, reading, writing, quizzes and tests etc.)

5. Each student will be issued a VG Lock & Locker. NO SHARING, switching, moving LOCKERS WITH OTHERS STUDENTS.

Locks must be returned to teacher at the end of the semester, or a fine may be assessed through bookstore account.

7. Students must secure all valuables in the office, or lockers provided. CGUSD & VGPE dept. are NOT responsible for any lost or stolen

property. The locker rooms are NOT entirely secure, students must be sure they lock up or stow valuables accordingly.

8. Handbook cell phone policy applies to the locker room, weight room, and gym areas. NO CELL PHONES ALLOWED!

[pic]GRADING Dressing out, Participation, Assessments and Assignments= 80% Written Final Exam = 20% (100%)

Monday 20points, Tuesday-Friday 40points. (Total 100pts weekly) - Monthly Fitness Testing, 100%

Students receive points for each class period based on attendance, dress-out, assignments, tests, reading, written material and participation.

Students who DO NOT dress out will receive a 0, and are NOT allowed to participate (make-up work NOT permitted for non-dresses)

Attendance is very important. ALL absences will receive a 0 for the day. Students are allowed make-up work, ask teacher for make-up.

[pic]DISCIPLINE Inappropriate behavior, foul language, tardiness and NON-DRESSES WILL NOT be tolerated.

DICIPLINE Policy: 1ND=Freebie per nine weeks. All Subsequent Non-Dresses or Misconduct may result in; loss of points, lunch detention, referral, parent contact, disciplinary consequences and or a 10%+ loss in grade.
