Housing InformationHere are some helpful links and housing that we've researched, to aid you in your housing search: HYPERLINK "" \t "_blank" HYPERLINK "" \t "_blank" HYPERLINK "" \t "_blank" Need to sublet your apartment in Philadelphia for the semester?Contact Natalya Levina at?natalya@wharton.upenn.edu?to advertise to exchange students.San Francisco MAPView this color-coded map:Highlighted sections include:The Wharton campusGateway Apartments (see below for additional info)RED border are areas that are easily accessible by public transportation and doesn’t require a lot of hill climbingORANGE tint areas are not highly recommended. For example, I sprayed orange over Mission Street within the Mission. While it is worthwhile to live within walking distance to a BART stop (such as 16th?Mission and 24th?Mission), it’s not the best area on the same block of the stations. In general, if you’re unsure of an area, use Google map directions using public transportation to see how simple it is to get to and from campus.Below is a list of some housing options we have researched in SF:Gateway ApartmentsSomewhat expensive compared to finding a room to rent in another area in SF or Oakland, but if you are open to sharing an apartment with your classmates it can become much more affordable (a one bedroom can easily house two students – the leasing agent said that a lot of people fit three in there if you’re really trying to save money and don’t mind being close with your roommates)Great option would be if a group is interested in a four-bedroom townhouse; might be the cheapest and roomiest deal (the living room could also be converted into a bedroom for a 5th?person if need be) – the townhouses also have a private backyard (for parties, etc.).The Gateway is about a 15 minute walk from campus along the Embarcadero. They cater to mostly students from area universities so they understand student budget issues, and they normally have deals with CORT for inexpensive furniture rental while you’re there. They have 3, 6, and 12 month leasing options. It is the most expensive option, but it's guaranteed headache-free – all costs are included in their fee (including furniture, internet, electric, cable, telephone, housekeeping, etc). Definitely nice option if you're sharing with other classmates.Trinity Management (avoid!):Below is a note on their service, from a 2013 SSF student:“While in SF for the fall semester I had a very bad experience with Trinity Management services, as have two of my other cohort mates. They have a business practice of illegally keeping security deposits, in my case as much as 20% for fraudulent charges (look them up on Yelp:?). I am aware that they own a lot of properties in SF (they specialize in short-term furnished rentals and thus Whartonites would unknowingly go to them), and I wanted to warn my classmates NOT to rent from them so they do not have the same awful experience I did.” ................
