File Uploads Made Easy

File Format

All uploaded files must be of a straight text format. The file can be either comma delimited or CR/LF delimited, and with or without quotes.

Selection Header

You may upload a single file for a number of different fields (or selections). Each field/selection should be presented in only one column denoting the selections by placing its own separate column header above the values for that selection.   A column header consists of a header name surrounded by square brackets. For example, the header for Zip Code is [ZipCode].

Example of one field/selection on one upload file:

[ZipCode]

55005:Ganyo

55011:Ganyo

55014:Ganyo

55020:Enger

55024:Enger

Example of two fields/selections on one upload file:

[ZipCode]

55005:Ganyo

55011:Ganyo

55014:Ganyo

55020:Enger

55024:Enger

[County]

MN023

MN027

Here are the types of geography uploads, their headers and value examples.  The element type selections and their column headers can be found in the Tips link shown in the File Format Information section also shown on the Upload page.

NOTE: Character values should be upper case.

Underneath the header is the list of chosen criteria for that selection. Each item in the list may be separated by either a comma, a tab, a space or a carriage return.

Example 1: Here is a Zip Code select with a list of codes separated by commas:

[ZipCode]

33914,33915,33916

Example 2: Here is a Zip Code select with a list of codes separated by carriage returns:

[ZipCode]

33914

33915

33916

Example 3: You can mix and match separators by including carriage returns, tabs and comma separators all in the same section.

[ZipCode]

33914,33915

33916

33918

33945

Ranges:

You may enter range data by separating two Zip Codes with hyphens.

Example: To retrieve all Zip Codes between 33914 and 33918 using a range.

[ZipRange]

33914-33918

Key codes:

You may choose to add a key code to any or all of your selections. You may do this by adding a colon (:) to the end of the selection, followed by the key code you wish to use. You may combine key codes with two or more items in your selection lists by enclosing them in parenthesis. (Does not apply to MLR counts)

Example 1: You need to add the keycode 'Mailing1' to records with Zip Code 33914 and the keycode 'Mailing2' to Zip Code 33915 and no keycode for Zip Code 33916.

[ZipCode]

33914:Mailing1

33915:Mailing2

33916

Example 2: You want to keycode Zip Codes 33914 and 33915 with 'Mailing1' and 33916 with 'Mailing2'.

[ZipCode]

(33914,33915):Mailing1

33916:Mailing2

MLR Tips:

The MLR feature allows you to retrieve search information and order records using the radial distance from one or more geographical locations as the primary search criteria. The MLR selection cannot be mixed with other Geographical selections in the same search or order. However, Additional Selection criteria can be combined with the Multi-Location Radius geography selections.

The radial distance specified in miles can be fractional

Input locations are limited to 1000 locations. Each input location may contain a distinct radius distance.

Each input location must have a name, which is stored as a Key code. Key codes must not be more than 30 characters in length. Alpha-numeric characters, spaces, commas, and periods are allowed.

Duplicate codes as location centers are not allowed.

Use the following format for uploading MLR Codes:

Zip9/Miles:

[MultiRadius]

Zip9/Miles:distance(Radius value):Key code

Example:

[MultiRadius]

977562532/Miles:3:Redmond
