So Long, Farewell and Good Luck to our 8th Graders

The RAMpages Reports have been very busy talking to the Graduating LMS 8th Graders. Let’s see what they have to say.

This is Nancy. I was able to interview our student council president, Luke Decidue. Luke told me his favorite part of LMS was meeting new people and making friends. He also loved the teachers he had. Luke is excited to go to CD because he would like to participate on the Lacrosse team. “I am excited to choose my classes and courses.” Luke said. Although he will miss his friends because he won’t see them as much at the high school. I got the scoop on Luke’s summer plans-he is hoping to work at 3B’s. Luke will also go to a Lacrosse Camp. I wish all the 8th graders good luck next school year!

This is Jack. I talked to Alex Pasichnik about his time here at LMS and his future plans. Alex is excited to go to CD next year. He will miss LMS. He knows some people at the high school. I asked him about the classes there. Alex said, “I think Tech Ed will be a cool class”. And Alex is ready for high school.

Daquan Holland here. I got to interview Pam Zader the awesome 8th grader. We got to be friends because of her younger brother. I asked Pam what she will miss here at LMS. Pam said, “The awesome assemblies.” Pam is looking forward to taking advanced classes. I did ask what she would change here. Pam would like to see more decorations at LMS. I asked what she thought the 12th graders would be like. “Just like the 8th graders at the middle school!”

Hi, it’s Kaiya. I talked to Travis Games. He told me his favorite thing at LMS is the people. Travis can’t wait to go to the high school and take a foreign language. I also found out that Mikayla Mustard is looking forward to hanging with her friends and playing sports at the high school. Mikayla is looking for more responsibility.

This is Sylvia. I talked to 8th grader Jodi Gayle. Jodi is looking forward to trying new things at CD and for all the clubs they have. Jodi is going to do Track and Field next year. Looking ahead to college Jodi is thinking about being a veterinarian or a Forensic Scientist.

The Glow Dance by DaQuan

There was an epic dance on March 27, 2015. LMS Held the Glow Dance! They had something different-COTTON CANDY!!!!! Students had sticky faces on the dance floor.

The dance included wacky and fun activities. There was an open gym, snack bar, refreshments, candy, DJ, flashing lights, and not to mention GLOW BRACELETS, NECKLACES, RINGS, AND GLASSES!!!!

The students, who normally don’t dance were on the dance floor. The neon lights made the neon shirts glow wonderfully!

Sadly, this was the last dance of the school year. But the good part is there’s always next year!

The reporters were able to get the facts straight about what our teachers are doing this summer.

Mrs. Kauffman would like to wish all the 8th graders good luck. This summer you can find her at a graduate class. And painting the house and spending time with her own kids.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mrs. Schiavoni will miss all the fun personalities first period and she will miss all her students. Mrs. Schiavoni is going to be taking classes this summer. She will also spend time with her own kids. And some lucky kids will benefit from her expertise as she gives them swimming lessons.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mrs. Yohn is going to miss all her students. She said school is a sad place without kids. You can find Mrs. Yohn teaching summer school. She is also going to paint and fix up her house to sell it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mr. Hetrick is going to miss all the awesome students on the Rams team! This summer he is traveling to the beach and to the Caribbean. Mr. Hetrick is hoping to see the Philly’s and the Senators this summer. He has plans to get prepared for next school year!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mr. McMinn would like to remind his 8th grade students to always say hello to him next year when they see him coaching at the high school. Mr. McMinn is taking a cruise to Bermuda with his family this summer and probably watching his favorite movie - Donald Duck in Math Magic Land.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mr. Smith will miss all of his students and completing fun science investigations. Mr. Smith is hoping to spend as much time as possible on his boat this summer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mrs. Wood wishes the 8th graders much future success. This summer Mrs. Wood will be busy planning lessons for next school year. She plans on painting rooms in her home and vacationing in Washington State and Canada.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mr. Henry is going to miss the interaction with students. They bring their own uniqueness. If the students feel accomplished so does he. This summer you can find Mr. Henry taking Graduate Classes and tutoring. He will spend time with his family and vacation in North Carolina.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mrs. Gernak had a fabulous school year and will miss her scholars and their smiles. This summer she will try a new creative activity. She hopes to improve her Zentangle skills.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mrs. Kurtz hopes the 8th Graders enjoy their summer and you grasp all that high school has to offer. Mrs. Kurtz can be found cruising through Mexico, Belize and Honduras. She is planning to swim with dolphins and visit Mayan Ruins.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Miss Evans wishes the 8th graders Best of Luck as they ventured outside the doors of LMS. Remember people don’t know what “stuff” and “things” mean. Most importantly “TOLERANCE” is the key to everyone’s happiness.

Want to change the country? Do you want to be President or Mayor?

You can do it! Try running for Class President or representative.

First, you need to understand voting. When you vote it gets recorded. You can vote on anything from president to what to have for lunch. Majority rules-which mean the most votes, win.

The most important fact is we vote for our future. It could change our future or our children’s future.

Local elections change your city or town. State elections change a larger area. Federal voting is for the whole country.

You can begin voting when you are 18 years old.

The most important thing to remember is that every vote counts!

Shyness

Avoidable or Permanent?

If you are shy and you want to talk to people this article is for you.

To avoid shyness find a kid in your class you think is cool then wave or say “hi”. If you are too nervous to do then maybe send a text or call them. Sometimes if you aren’t face to face it may be easier.

Then maybe a week or 2 after that you can begin talking in person with small talk. Ask what they are having for lunch. Or what their week-end plans are.

Remember you can do anything if you talk and listen!

Okay, it’s safe to say that ever since the WII U, Nintendo has gone downhill. Nintendo really is a great company. They invented the Game Cube, N64, WII and Nintendo 3DS. They are one of the best gaming systems to ever be invented. But WII U is just bad. If Nintendo wants to stay alive, they must act fast. Over the past year, rumors have occurred saying that Nintendo is working on a new hand held device and home console: Nintendo Fusion Terminal and Nintendo Fusion DS. Rumors say that the DS version and the Terminal version will work together (like PS Vita and PS4). According to , “Fusion DS is said to contain an ARMv8-A Cortex-A53 CPU, a custom Adreno 420-based AMD graphics processor and a 3,300mAh Li-Ion battery. Aesthetically, users would see a slide out design and custom swivel tilt hinge.” The Nintendo Fusion DS will also be compatible with 3DS games. Also according to ,

“Fusion Terminal looks more like a next-gen console when stacked against the Wii U given its specs. It's supposed to be a 64-bit, 8-core IBM processor that has 4GB of speedy unified DDR4 SDRAM and 2GB DDR3 RAM.” Is this to be the next generation of video gaming? Or is this the end for Nintendo?
