You Can Have That Delivered?

You Can Have That Delivered?Brought to you by Travis Association for the Blind in partnership with Northwest?Hills EyecareToday’s PanelPanelistSpecializationDan HartAccessibility SpecialistTaryn SchriewerStore ClerkYvonne GuzmanOn the Job TrainerAll our panelists have experience using various delivery services to have lots of cool things delivered.FavoritesInstacart – Yvonne, TarynAccessible with Voiceover. Logical UI splits into sections for groceries.Easy to navigate, adding things to your cart, and communicating with the shopper while they’re shopping for items works very well. However, if you need to read directions from package labels or a task similar, that part is not as accessible as it used to be.Uber Eats – Yvonne, TarynVoiceover friendlyNotifications keep you informed.3D Touch menu opens recent / reorder list.I’m able to navigate through the menus easily, and still communicate with the driver as well.CVS – DanGreat to have prescription delivered for free. Easy to refill your prescription and schedule for deliveryVery easy to use with Talkback and MagnificationDoorDash – YvonneUsed frequently especially at work when ordering lunch for me and a few other employees. This one is good because its very Voiceover friendly, and I’m able to very easily communicate with the person delivering my orders.Shipt – YvonneThis is another grocery delivery app; I like this one because their selection seems to be more updated with the current stores the app uses. Instacart doesn’t seem to update their store selection as often. Shipt is good for catching recent deals or sales.Favor – TarynFavor is Voiceover Friendly, though beginning Voiceover users may have some minor challenges. Your ordered items are at the bottom of the screen if you want to edit an item. It is easy to communicate with the “Runner” bringing your order to you in real time, giving you the option to make a change if something is not available upon arrival. There are categories the user can choose from to help with budgeting, such as “$3.00 or Less” allowing you to avoid higher charges for delivery if you pick this category.Amazon – Dan, TarynGreat to use to compare prices with brick and mortar stores. Wide selection or hard to find things. Free shipping often same day or next day. – Taryn,This app is good with Voiceover and reminds me a little of Amazon. You can find items on that aren’t available at your local store. You can browse categories, use the search feature and find almost anything. Nonperishable groceries are available in this manner as well, though Walmart Grocery is also contained in the app and no longer separate. You will choose “Pickup and Delivery” for Walmart Grocery. Your items ship quickly and return policies are good. If you choose to buy fresh groceries and use the delivery method, Walmart contracts with DoorDash. Not So FavoritesPostmates – YvonneI no longer use this app because the accessibility has gone downhill quite a bit, and often, I’ve always had missing items from my orders, or the order was incorrect.Questions and AnswersAcknowledgementsSpecial thanks to Dr. Laura Miller and her staff at Northwest Hills Eyecare for allowing us to speak with you today. If you would like a copy of the information we presented today, please send an email to Thomas.stivers@ or dan.hart@. ................
