TSM Start GUI



1 Scheduler Service Install

Before using these instructions, make sure the TSM Backups client is installed on your machine, and that you know the TSM userid and TSM password assigned by the TSM admins.

This document is intended for cases where no TSM Scheduler service has been installed.

That being said, the major difference when it comes to modifying an existing scheduler

you select the button saying “Update a previously installed scheduler”.

Start with the TSM Gui.

Select Utilities -> Setup Wizard

Check Help me configure the TSM Client Scheduler, click Next.

Click “Next”

TSM 6.*: Select install a new or additional scheduler and click Next

Accept the defaults and click Next

Accept the defaults here, just click Next (see below).

TSM 6.*:

Check that the supplied Node Name matches the TSM id supplied by the TSM Admin; if it does not match, put in the supplied TSM id. Enter the password supplied by the TSM admin and click Next.

Accept the defaults here as well, just click Next (see below).

TSM 6.*:

Select Yes for automatic start and click Next (see below).

TSM 6.*: Click Apply

click Finish (see below)

No message on success

For TSM 6.* machines: Go back to the TSM Backups GUI

Under the Error Log section, click the box by Prune old entries, and under Prune entries older than, select 7.

Then select the Scheduler tab on the left side of the window, and under Schedule Log click the box by Prune old entries, and select 7 days.

The select the Authorization item on the left side of the window and select the button by Password Generate; after that click OK.

Close the TSM GUI.
