Driver installation on Windows 7 has changed when compared to previous Operating Systems. Windows 7 searches Windows Update for the relevant device; if Windows Update cannot find a suitable driver it will search its own drivers on the system. If there are no drivers available for the device, Windows 7 will not prompt the user for input. You will need to install the driver manually as an Administrator. To do this, follow these steps: 1. browse to the folder created in step 1. Then continue following the wizards' instructions 6) To finish click "Apply" on the "Printer Properties" dialog.

Finding out if your computer is running a 32-bit or a 64-bit version of Windows 7

To find out if your computer is running a 32-bit or a 64-bit version of Windows in Windows 7 do the following:

1. Open System by clicking the Start button 2. Right-click Computer and select Properties. 3. Under System, you can view the system type.

This should state either "32-bit Operating System" or "64-bit Operating System".
