Federated Rural Electric Insurance Position Title: Agency ManagerDepartment:UnderwritingReports To: VP UnderwritingFLSA Status: ExemptDate Written: 03/18Grade: General Summary:Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Lenexa Services, Inc., ensuring that the service standards of timeliness, accuracy and professionalism are maintained.Essential Job Functions:% of Time: Trains with outside consultants as needed, learning the brokerage business to a degree that is most beneficial to Federated’s members.Reliable resource to Federated members, staff, and carriers, promoting the rural electric program to external stakeholders, and informing those internal with relevant insurance industry knowledge.Develops and maintains insurer markets and relationships for Federated’s brokered business in a way that ensures coverage continuity and pricing stability as much as possible.Places brokered business as requested prior to expiration by ensuring accuracy and timeliness of quotes, binders, policies, and endorsements.Acquires and maintains all required insurance licenses.Reports agency operations status as often as required to VP-UnderwritingDevelops and maintains appropriate working relationships with all other departments and personnel.Maintains an accurate accounting of all agency transactions.9. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of insurance agency business processes and procedures.Knowledge of commercial ISO-type policies, rules, and forms.Ability to find and cultivate relationships with insurance carriers and wholesale markets. Knowledge of electric cooperative operations and philosophies.Knowledge of mathematical principles and practices.Knowledge of Federated products, services, policies, and procedures.Knowledge of general offices practices. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in operating such office equipment as personal computer, Internet, e-mail, fax machine, copy machine, etc.Ability to communicate with co-workers and customers in a professional manner. Ability to maintain flexibility and responsiveness when faced with multiple work tasks and stressful situations.Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Education and Experience:Bachelor degree or equivalent, plus three to five years insurance agency or retail experience with a Property/Casualty insurance company.
