DESCRIPTION

This is work reviewing, analyzing, examining and/or evaluating insurance contracts, forms, advertising materials, marketing practices, claims handling, and/or other technical insurance records or data, for the purpose of providing technical expertise and service to the agency or public.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

Examines and interprets insurance documents to determine coverages, exclusions and conditions.

Reviews and evaluates insurance advertising, marketing and claims.

Analyzes complaints and conducts investigations of insurance agents, companies, adjusters and other related entities.

Reviews insurance records to determine coverage applicable to specific claims.

Investigates the activities and conduct of insurers, producers and related entities.

Communicates with the public and/or insurance company representatives or officials.

Provides insurance information and advice to the public, insurance agents, companies, adjusters and other parties as necessary.

Collects evidence relating to questionable insurance transactions.

Uses principles of risk management and general insurance practices to analyze and report on insurance related data.
