Financial Analyst-Life Sciences

The Financial Analyst for the Life Sciences Group assists with the management of reporting functions ensuring accuracy, timeliness, relevance, and the integrity of reporting processes, including monthly reporting and analysis, ad hoc reporting, budgeting, forecasting and projections, and management reports. Some travel is required within this role. The Financial Analyst reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting for the Life Sciences Group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Assists with the preparation, timeliness, and integrity of all financial results reports and analysis.

• Prepare consolidated financial reports (both internal and external) that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.

• Assists with the coordination of budgeting and oversee financial forecasting.

• Timely and accurate information integration with corporate systems.

• Prepare variance and key ratio analysis and other ad hoc analyses to explain fluctuations in financial results.

• Assist with the effort to develop pricing guidance and provide pricing analysis.

• Project based assignments that will assist in meeting departmental and divisional objectives.

• Special projects and / or other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related curriculum.

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.

• General business and finance acumen.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Project management skills required.

• Some travel (both domestic and international) may be required.

Desired:

• Experience in budgeting and financial planning within a corporate financial or a business unit.

Skills/Competencies:

• Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures including GAAP, FASB and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
