5 School Lesson Plan TemplateDates: January 27-January 313rd Grade READINGObjective & TEKSProcedureMGenre: Traditional Literature - FolktalesTEKS: 3.8A, 3.5Obj: We will sequence events and explain their influence on future events.Product: I will read my independent text and recognize sequential events and their impact on the plot.Interactive Read Aloud: The Harvestbirds from Journeys Lesson 8.-Using your SEs (3.8A & 3.5), you will need to prepare deep comprehension questions, discussion stems, or opportunities for students to share their thinking during the read aloud. (there are a few questions/stopping points on pg.54 of CLLG at the top under IRA section-Prepare sticky notes with the questions and place them on the appropriate page in a Student Book you will use for your IRA.-- Create the Traditional Literature Anchor Chart with your students. -Use page 105 in the CLLG to create the Anchor. Your Anchor chart should include a working definition, noticings (author’s purpose, characters, setting, plot, theme, and subgenres) and book examples you complete using your IRA mentor text. Keep the same format as the Realistic Fiction anchor chart **This anchor chart will be referred to for Jan.27-31, Feb.3-7, and Feb.10-14 as these are all subgenres of Traditional Literature(see handouts for details)Students read independent traditional literature selection: Ex. Grasshopper and the Ant in Journeys student book Lesson 22TGenre: Traditional Literature - FolktalesTEKS: 3.8AObj: We will sequence events and explain their influence on future events.Product: I will sequence events by completing a graphic organizer using my independent texts.Minilesson: SequenceText: The Harvestbirds -Create the Sequence Anchor Chart with your students.
