PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE

July 2012- Seton Medical Center Daly City, CA

June 2013 Hospitalist at a 357 bed hospital. The census on average was 15 patients a day which included

ICU/CCU patients and about 2-3 admissions per day. I also participated in daily rounds with the ancillary staff (clinical nurse coordinator, case manager, social worker) to discuss disposition issues.

June 2006- Eugene and Ruth Roberts Summer Student Academy Internship, Duarte, CA

July 2007 City of Hope. P.I.: Dr. Ravi Bhatia, M.D. Ph.D.

I was selected to participate in this summer mentorship program. The lab’s focus was on chronic myelogenous leukemia and I worked on a project that focused on studying the effectiveness of a novel drug SKI-606 (bosutinib), a potent tyrosine kinase and src kinase inhibitor, in inhibiting progenitor CML cells. Bosutinib received FDA approval in September 2012 as second line therapy for patients who developed resistance, or intolerance to prior therapy.

October 2004 - Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Los Angeles, CA

June 2005 Research Specialist

P.I.: Dr. Kenneth Weinberg, M.D.

The lab’s focus was on cell-signaling and my project focused on the downstream signaling effects of the interaction of the tyrosine kinase Jak 3 and the gamma chain. I performed numerous laboratory procedures including immunoprecipitation, western blotting, gel electrophoresis, and cloning to name a few. Our diligence was recognized by two separate publications, both of which site me as a co-author, in the journal Blood.
