ATN/IPS Air Ground Port Numbers

SUMMARY

This paper indicates the port numbers assigned by IANA for Air Ground applications and the changes to be inserted into the ATN/IPS Manual.

Proposed Changes to the ATN/IPS Manual

1 Part I

2.4 TRANSPORT LAYER REQUIREMENTS

2.4.3 Transport Port Numbers

2.4.3.1 IPS nodes shall support and make use of the TCP and/or UDP port values defined in Part II of this manual.

2 Part II

2.1 Ground Applications

2.1.1 ATSMHS

2.1.1.3 IPS hosts that support the ATSMHS application shall make use of TCP port number 102 as specified in RFC-1006 and RFC-2126.

2.1.2 AIDC

2.1.2.3 IPS hosts in the ATN that support the EUROCONTROL Flight Message Transfer Protocol shall make use of TCP port number 8500.

2.3 Transport Layer

2.1.2 Port Numbers

2.1.2.1 The following TCP and UDP port numbers shall be used when supporting legacy ATN applications over the ATN/IPS.

5910 Context Management

5911 Controller Pilot Data Link Communication

5912 Flight Information Services

5913 Automatic Dependent Surveillance

3.3.3 Transport Layer Addressing

• tcp/udp 5910 for CM

• tcp/udp 5911 for CPDLC

• tcp/udp 5912 for FIS

• tcp/udp 5913 for ADS

Recommendations

1) WGI is invited to consider the above changes to the ATN/IPS Manual for inclusion into the Document 9896.

2) ICAO is invited to consider whether they wish to be assigned as contact point for the port numbers.
