Recruitment Process & Application Form Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Step into Dance Freelance Dance Practitioner. This document gives you all the necessary information about our application, selection and training procedures.

You should refer to these guidelines and the Person Specification and Job Description before and while completing an application.

About Step into Dance

Step into Dance is a Royal Academy of Dance programme run in partnership with the Jack Petchey Foundation. It enables young people to develop their passion and skills of dance through a diverse and inclusive programme of weekly classes, workshops and performance opportunities. Working with mainstream and SEN schools across London and Essex, Step into Dance reaches around 6,000 students annually, aiming to reach those that might not otherwise connect with dance.

Schools receive a menu of extra-curricular dance offers and have the option of selecting one or a combination of these offers which will be delivered, either weekly, as a one-off session or intensive over the academic year. As a Freelance Dance Practitioner, you will be required to develop the programme in each school or schools allocated to you. The post is part time, and how many schools you work in will depend upon your schedule and the style/s of dance you can work in.
