Write a letter to us telling about yourself. Be sure to include today’s date.

Paragraph One:

What are you like as a student? How do you usually behave in class? How would you describe your personality?

Paragraph Two:

Tell me about yourself as a reader. Do you like to read? What kinds of books interest you? What books have you read during the past year? What did you like about those books? If you don’t read much, why not?

Paragraph Three:

Describe your writing/composing abilities. Do you consider yourself a good writer? What kinds of things do you like/hate to write about? What are your strongest and weakest skills in English? What areas would you like to improve in?

Paragraph Four:

Think back to the last few years in English classes. Describe assignments or activities that you loved and those that you hated. What would you like to accomplish in this class?

Paragraph Five:

What are your interests/talents/skills/hobbies? What accomplishments in school or out of school have made you proud?

Paragraph Six:

What can I do that will be most helpful to you? Is there any other advice you would like to give me? Is there anything else you feel I should know about you?
