Springfield Public Schools

Hello PLC and Life Skills Parents and Students! We miss our students very much and cannot wait to have you back in our classrooms. We are thinking of you and hoping everyone is healthy and safe. Until we can get back to our classrooms, here are some suggestions for you to support your students at home. There are many fun ways to reinforce academic concepts outside of the classroom. The following is just a general guideline and by no means mandatory or all-inclusive. Choose the activities your child will enjoy and that will reinforce whatever your learning goals are for your child during this time. Some suggestions are specific to your student’s classroom, but you may like an idea or option posted here by one of the other program teachers. Feel free to consider this a menu and choose what you think will be the most beneficial and fun. Remember to have FUN with these activities. We don’t want to create any stress for you or your kiddos. We hope you’ll enjoy working with and watching your students learn. Feel free to reach out to us through email or class dojo! We are available and happy to answer any questions you may have. Love, Mrs. O’Connor, Mrs. Moriarty, Mrs. Shermer and Mrs. BiscoeIf you need to contact your teacher, please email them at:PLC Mrs. O’Connor: oconnorca@Life SkillsK-1-2: Mrs. Moriarty: moriartyma@2-3: Mrs. Shermer: shermerb@4-5: Mrs. Biscoe: biscoej@______________________________________________________________All of us strongly recommend reading aloud to your student and asking questions before, during and after. Some prompts are: What do you think this story will be about? How do you think the character felt? What do you think the important message or main idea was in this story? There are also some great websites that read aloud to your child.
