I. the spotless bride

A. Jesus’ great desire is for His bride to emerge at the end loving Him and leaning on Him. (Song of Songs 8:6)

B. Jesus Himself asked His Father in John 17:24-26 for a bride equally yoked with Him in light, love, purity and passion.

“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” – John 17:24-26

C. The Father will answer His Sons intercession with energy and exclamation!

D. This was the plan from before the beginning. The Father wanted a family, the Son a companion equally yoked to Him in light and love. A bride that would voluntarily share the same affections of the Godhead. Erupting out of this longing came a creature that had the faculties to love and enjoy Him forever.

E. In order to fully understand the end times, one has to first see the final product of redemption. Human history is culminated in an eruption of songs, declarations of worship, a wedding feast, and a bride dressed in white prepared for her husband. It ends with a wedding!

After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!” And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, “Amen! Alleluia!” Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!” And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” - Revelation 19:1-9

1. At the end of the day the saints will not be primarily identified as the “army of the Lord”, or the acquitted of the Lord, but a passionate bride clothed in light and love and sacrifice. She is presented to as the wife of the Lamb; those whom He has loved and longed for.

F. The most glorious days of the body of Christ are yet to come. In Matthew 13 Jesus tells a parable in which the sons of the kingdom and the sons of the evil one come to maturity in the hour of the Second Coming. The bible describes a glorious in holiness, victorious in love, partnering Bride at the end of the age.

G. The end time people of God will be marked by four distinct “banners” in the Spirit. There will be a measure of fullness and maturity in these four areas unlike ever before in history only likened to that in the book of Acts.

1. Intercession

2. Intimacy/Worship/Holiness

3. Compassion and Extravagant Offering

4. Prophetic and Supernatural Ministry

H. We are standing in the midst of a change in the expression and understanding of Christianity in one generation. This reformation will result in the mature expression of these four “banners”.

1. Change in expression- Christianity will change in terms of corporate lifestyle, as the people of God come into agreement with the heart of God. This agreement will produce corporate unity and true apostolic covenant community.

2. Change in understanding- The understanding, or the way the unbelievers perceive this new expression will be extremely different than in presently is. The unbelievers related to the early church with fear and awe.

I. “To the church without mixture, I will give the Spirit without measure”

1. Right now the church at large is steeped in compromise and fear but this won’t always be the case. Under the perfect leadership of Jesus he will present her “holy and blameless, without spot or wrinkle” (Ephesians 5:27)

2. Purity equals authority. Jesus will begin to address the issues of compromise within the church and call for repentance on a global scale as He did to the seven churches in Revelation 2-3. In response to our turning and our humility He will release measures of the Spirit in unprecedented way and restore authority and identity to the Bride.

3. Authentic humility worked in us through grace positions us to walk in true authority. God is able to give greater measures of His presence and power the lower we go in humility.

For all those things My hand has made, and all those things exist,” Says the LORD. But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word. – Isaiah 66:1-2

J. Her gratitude and love for Jesus is what motivates her to live a diligent life of obedience, not the religious motives of fear, shame and guilt.

K. Jesus is going to bring forth a bride fully leaning on Him. This means the removal of pride and self-assertion from the church and deliverance from a spirit of independence. The dramatic events surrounding the end times are the least severe means possible used by Jesus to get the depths of pride and humanism out of His church. What is judgment in the world is also what Jesus uses to purify and refine the ones He loves.

L. Only when the Bride’s eyes are off of herself will she truly have a mature love. Only when He shakes everything that can be shaken can we receive the unshakable kingdom.

M. The prayers prayed by the Holy Spirit through the apostles with find their fulfillment in the church in the end times. Every apostolic prayer will be fully realized in the end time church. Let us look at some of the highlights of these intercessions.

1. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. – Romans 15:5-6

2. And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. 
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. – Romans 16:20

3. I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Corinthians 1:4-8

4. Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. – 2 Corinthians 9:10-11

5. We are glad whenever we are weak but you are strong; and our prayer is for your perfection. – 2 Corinthians 13:9

6. For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. – Ephesians 1:15-23

7. For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. – Ephesians 3:14-19

8. Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus." After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. – Acts 4:29-31

9. I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace. For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ. And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. – Philippians 1:2-11

10. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7

11. For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

12. Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. – Colossians 4:12

13. Or what thanks can we render to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sake before our God, night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face and perfect what is lacking in your faith? Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you. And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints. – 1 Thessalonians 3:9-12

14. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. Brethren, pray for us. – 1 Thessalonians 5:23-25

15. With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. – 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

16. Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one and we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, both that you do and will do the things we command you. Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. – 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5

17. Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. – Hebrews 13:20-21

18. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. – 2 Peter 1

:2-3

19. Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. – Jude 1:24-25

20. The High Priestly prayer of Jesus.

N. What does it mean to be “without offense”?

1. The removal of everything that offends/quenches the Holy Spirit.

2. The removal of everything in us that accuses the nature of God.

3. The removal of every offense against a brother.

4. Living with a free heart.

II. the contending house of prayer

A. Jesus will raise up as house that will contend with every other house at the end of the age.

B. As the nations rage in Psalm 2, God releases His divine decree in which he will subdue the governments of the earth. The intercession of Jesus in partnership with the prayer of the saints is the eternal decree for how God would release His government.

C. Day and night worship and intercession will cover the earth in the hour of the Lord’s return. This incense will cover the earth and release the purposes of God and judgments of God on the earth and usher in the return of Jesus.

D. Jesus places day and night intercession for justice in the context of His Second Coming in Luke 18:1-8. In the previous chapter describes the signs and context for His Second Coming and before going into this parable.

And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth? – Luke 18:7-8

E. In Revelation 8 we see the praying church take their place before the throne of God and their prayers are mixed with fire from the altar in heaven and hurled to the earth releasing the trumpet judgments on earth.

When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake. – Revelation 8:1-5

F. In Malachi 1:11 the Lord prophecies that their would come a day where He would raise up the priestly ministry all over the earth to make His name great in all the nations.

G. God is going to raise up a global Tabernacle of David to release the global harvest, provoke Israel to jealousy (because the priestly ministry is their inheritance) and to create the atmosphere for His Son to return. Jesus will not return in a vacuum.

On that day I will raise up The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old; That they may possess the remnant of Edom, And all the Gentiles who are called by My name,” Says the LORD who does this thing. “ Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD – Amos 9:11-13

H. God prophesied that the corporate setting of the church at the end of the age would be called a “House of Prayer”.

Also the sons of the foreigner who join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants— Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and holds fast My covenant— Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.” – Isaiah 56:6-7

I. Jesus reiterated as he entered into the temple in Jerusalem the week before He goes to the cross in Matthew 21:12-13.

J. In Isaiah 62:6-7 the Lord is going to sovereignly going to place end time watchmen on the wall until Jerusalem is a praise on the earth (Second Coming).

K. In Revelation 22:17 John prophecies that the church would be in full cooperation with the Holy Spirit and in intercession crying, “Come!”

III. the global harvest

A. Jesus lays out a condition for His Second Coming in Matthew 24:14 which also gives us a powerful picture of the victorious church in the hour of His coming.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. – Matthew 24:14

B. Out of the global prayer movement will be shot out messengers into every nation. Out of the place of intimacy and intercession will be launched the greatest apostolic missions movement ever seen on the earth operating in the fullness of all 9 gifts of the Spirit.

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”- Matthew 9:37-38

C. In Acts 2:17 Peter interprets the events of Pentecost as a down payment of that which will come to fruition on the earth at the end. Peter quotes the book of Joel as the divine prescription for the outpouring of the Spirit.

And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants
 I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above
 and signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved.’ – Acts 2:17-21

D. Peter describes a coming day when what was being foreshadowed that day in Jerusalem when “men from every nation under heaven heard them declaring the mighty works of God”. This global outpouring would be accompanied by:

1. The Spirit of Prophecy will operate in the heart of every believer and the testimony of Jesus is released over every nation (ethnos).

2. The Spirit of Elijah would be operating as every generation would experience the outpouring.

3. Signs and Wonders in the heavens and on the earth. The miracles of the book of Exodus and the book of Acts combined and released on a global scale.

4. A global calling on the name of Jesus unto salvation.

E. We see an embodiment of this outpouring in the Two Witnesses in Revelation 11.

These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire. – Revelation 11:6

F. As the prayer movement comes into maturity all over the world, the Lord will release the anointing to do the “greater works” Jesus prophesied about in John 14:12.

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. – John 14:12

G. The Lord is going to restore a martyrdom spirit to the body of Christ as He reveal the beauty of Jesus and the depths of His love at the cross. His intense desire for the nations will be like a fire in the hearts of His beloved.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. – Revelation 12:11

H. Isaiah prophesied of forerunners who would prepare the way for the Lord in the End-Times or at the time of Jesus’ Second Coming when all flesh (all nations) shall see Jesus’ glory together.

1. The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God…The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh (all nations) shall see it together (at Jesus’ Second Coming). (Isa. 40:3-5) 

2. Forerunners prepare the way for the Lord by preparing people to respond rightly to Jesus in the End-Times by making known His plans. God raises up forerunners as a “mercy ministry” to the multitudes before the intensity of the Lord’s End-Time activities begin in both positive (revival) and negative (judgment) ways. These activities express God’s love and wisdom.

I. As intense events begin to happen, many tend to lose their perspective and objectivity in seeing God’s love and wisdom. Those who see what God is doing as biblical and as expressing His love and wisdom are able to set their hearts to be resolved to participate with the Lord in His purposes instead of resisting or neglecting them in fear, confusion and offense.

J. “a highway for our God” - The highway God travels on is the voluntary agreement of His people as they partner with Him.  Forerunners make sense of what is to happen before the Spirit releases it in a worldwide way.

K. They are messengers who proclaim “now” what the Spirit is “soon” to emphasize in a universal way. They are one short step ahead of what the Spirit is soon to openly release. Forerunners bring new understanding or paradigms of God and His End-Time activities.

 

3. If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? If in the land of peace…they wearied you, then how will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan? (Jeremiah 12:5)

L. The forerunner ministry does not make sense to the multitudes until the intense activities begin. The wisdom of Noah’s ark was not apparent until it began to rain.

M. Forerunners are “messengers” who function with a specific message in different spheres of life. For example, they are preachers, evangelists, artists (singers, musicians, actors, etc.), writers (internet), media, marketplace or intercessors as well as those who disciple people one-on-one in the church, marketplace, campus, or home (moms are some of the most important forerunners).

N. The Holy Spirit will anoint forerunners to speak in power and clarity about the sin of a nation.

4. But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the LORD, and of justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin. (Mic. 3:8)

 

IV. seven theological premises of the forerunner ministry

A. Premise #1: There will be “unique dynamics” in the generation the Lord returns. The greatest number of people will be living at the time of the greatest manifestation of power (God’s/Satan’s) and will require a unique focus and understanding. In this generation, history transitions to the Millennial Kingdom. This is the unprecedented new thing that Isaiah prophesied.

 

Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? - Isa. 43:18-19

 

B. Premise #2: The Holy Spirit will emphasize the revelation of the Father in the End-Times.

 

C. Premise #3: The Holy Spirit will emphasize 3 facets of the beauty of Jesus as a passionate Bridegroom (with tenderness and deep desire for His people), as a powerful King who confronts darkness and wins the lost and as a righteous Judge who upholds God’s standards (holiness).

 

D. Premise #4: Forerunners participate in 3 unprecedented activities of the Spirit: restoring the First Commandment, gathering the Harvest and releasing God’s judgments (Rev. 6; 8-9; 16).

 

E. Premise #5: God is preparing forerunner ministries ahead of time in the wilderness that they may prepare others for the Day of the Lord activities. It takes a clear sense of mandate and identity as a forerunner to stay faithful long term to grow in understanding (Dan. 11:33-35).

 

F. Premise #6: Forerunners must live a fasted lifestyle in the grace of God as seen in Matthew 6:1-18.

 

G. Premise #7: Forerunners are best trained in context to the End-Time prayer movement. They understand the role of the prayer movement in End-Time prophecy and therefore build houses of prayer. (Rev. 22:17; 5:8; 8:4; Lk. 18:7-8; Isa. 24:14-16; 26:8-9; 30:18-19; 42:10-13; 62:6-7).

 

V. cities of refuge

A. The combination of authoritative corporate prayer and worship paired with the release of supernatural power and might in a region will allow for “pockets of glory” or demon-sickness-injustice free zones over cities and regions.

B. These areas will have a manifestation of the glory of God resting in them in response to the day and night prayer and radical obedience of the saints. These cities of refuge will foreshadow the light and peace that will be normal in the Millennium under Jesus’ leadership.

C. The same zeal and priority for the manifest presence of the Lord that God put in the heart of David in Psalm 132 will rest in corporate bodies of believers and they seek to build a “resting place” for the Lord in their cities.

LORD, remember David And all his afflictions; How he swore to the LORD, And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob: “Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house, Or go up to the comfort of my bed; I will not give sleep to my eyes Or slumber to my eyelids, Until I find a place for the LORD, A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.”- Psalm 132:1-5
