Over the past several years we have been blessed with a phone call wishing us “happy birthday” or “happy anniversary” from Peggy Snowden. Due to Peggy’s health she can no longer make the phone calls. The members of Lorain Lighthouse wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you Peggy and we all wish you well. We have all enjoyed your phone calls.

A Sincere thanks goes to the following people who helped in the kitchen with concessions for the Upward Sports Program:

Bonnie Hockman Sharon King

Jo Loridas Shirley Morano

Kathy Sellers Karen Motter

Linda Ritenaur Al Wayman

Annette Wayman Nancy Cart

Debbie Hughes Shirley Freund

Mary Svoboda

Also, to those who brought cookies to sell. The children loved the homemade ones. What a treat for them!

Thank you to Debbie Fisher and the rest of our church family for your many thoughts and continued prayer chain for my mom, Carol Beard. Her surgery was 8+hours long back on Jan. 29th and she’s been through some very rough patches during her 18 day recovery at University Hospital. But, I am thrilled to report that she’s been recuperating at

Anchor Lodge for the past two weeks, and continually get stronger. The surgeons ended up removing her entire stomach and she’s cancer free. Thank you God. Last week her surgeon pulled her “pick-line” in fear of an infection, so now she needs to build up her food intake. We assume her insurance will be releasing her from the nursing home, now that she doesn’t need her TPN feedings and physical therapy. She had two doctor appointments the week of March 10th and was hoping to go back to her house in Massillon the weekend of March 15th. She has been with us since early November, so I’m sure she’s ready to get home and start adapting to her new life and way of living.

Again, thank you all for your well wishes and support.

We will be offering different opportunities for you to grow in your relationship with Jesus through meeting as a small group as you study, pray and fellowship with one another through “Prism Groups”

Prism Groups will meet beginning the week of April 20th-week of June 15th The groups will begin with a meal on the first week and will then meet for a study for 6 weeks, followed by another shared meal and service project. Happy March everyone, sure will be glad when spring is here. Several of the High school scouts are starting on their gold awards so we met at I-Hop on free pancake stack day. March 9th through the 15th was Girl Scout Week. We did opening Flag Ceremony for Church, then on Monday we had a mother/daughter pot luck dinner and we decorated all kinds of cupcakes, we have some great imaginations. We also had great food and a good turnout.

Girl Scout Cookies have arrived; and my garage was full. So if you are in need of cookies please let us know. We also have been doing lots of cookie booths. We are raising money to go to Philly & Boston in June of 2015.

We completed our family trees and made a field on paper then added butterflies as the family.

Our bows and arrows are getting finished and now we are going to be practicing how to use them properly and safely. The girls attended the defense seminar held at the church; they learned some new things and even asked questions. The Girls attended and did the opening flag ceremony for the Monsters Hockey Team at Quicken Loans Arena. There sure is a different view standing down on the ice.

We all attended the church skate afternoon at Skateworld and had a great afternoon. We also went to the service unit bingo bash which everyone played bingo and won lots of great prizes. We ended the month off by spending the weekend cabin camping at camp Timberlane. We were in one of the original cabins, we made ice cream, monkey bread, cooked over homemade burners, worked on crafts, hiked and had a campfire with smores a course.

Hello everyone please mark your calendars the girl scouts will be hosting a princess tea with lots of characters. The cost will be an $8.00 donation. YOUTH GROUP NEWS

We have been busy this month, we made up lunches for the homeless and needy. There were some good lunches made. Eleven youth attended the Fireland’s District Youth Lock In in Norwalk. The kids got to play basketball, volley ball and swimming. Then a DJ was brought in and his fog machine set off the fire alarms, but kids were great and went out in the cold till the fire department said we could go back in. Then we had basketball and volley ball tournaments and a team from our church came in 1st place; they were so excited. We had pizza and did team work challenge games. Everyone had a good time and we had some very tired kids. Youth also attended the defense seminar held at the church; they learned some new things and even asked questions. We all attended the church skate afternoon at Skateworld and had a great afternoon. We have completed 7 days of lessons to our step off program only 23 more days to go. Have a great month.

Youth group kids, Robin & Marvin.
