School Bus and Taxi Service is Cancelled Today due to the Weather ? Schools are OPEN

All field trips, tests, practices and workshops are cancelled when the buses are cancelled.

When buses are cancelled, they are cancelled for the entire day. If you drop your children off this morning ? you will need to pick them up at 3:30!

If your child is staying at home on a snow day ? please remember to let the school know. (Report through EDSBY or call the school at 905-833-5115)

A Message to Families About Possible Exposure to Pediculosis (Head LICE)

We were informed that several students have lice ? they cover all divisions so we are sending this letter to everyone.

Your child may have come into contact with a student who has pediculosis (head lice). Head lice are common in school-aged children. They are not considered to be a communicable disease and they do not cause illness, however they are a nuisance and can spread easily. Anyone can get them.

Please go to to find information from the Canadian Pediatric Society about the identification, treatment and prevention of head lice.

We encourage you to check your child's head. If your child has nits (eggs) and/or live lice, we request that you notify the school and apply treatment as soon as possible. Your child can continue to attend school when they are free of live pediculosis and when treatment has begun.

LUNCH SUPERVISORS NEEDED

Are you interested in a paid job from 12:50 ? 1:50 pm? You can work 1 day a week or 5 days a week (first-come first served!). You would supervise in the classroom for 20 minutes and then do 40 minutes of supervision (outside in good weather). Please talk to our secretary ? This evening's performance of ANNIE JR is POSTPONED until tomorrow ? Thursday, Feb 21, at 7 pm.

The weather forecast for this evening is FREEZING RAIN. For this reason, the board has cancelled night classes and permits for this evening. That means that we cannot use the school this evening for our performance of ANNIE JR.

ANNIE JR will be rescheduled to tomorrow night (Thursday, Feb 21) at 7 pm. We are sorry for the inconvenience ? but everyone's safety is very important.

The afterschool buses will run as scheduled today.

ELECTIVES

We will not be able to reschedule skiing. We must have activity buses and we had difficulty finding them when we booked in December ? and with the weather patterns lately who knows what will happen!!

The Junior and Intermediates teachers are examining whether SkyZone can be rebooked and opened to the rest of the gr 4 ? 8 students. We will have an answer for you by the end of the week and at that time we will either re-open cash online and/or refund all the money. Thanks for your patience.

BORC

Gr 2, Gr 4 and Gr 7 - The Burrlington Outdoor Resource Centre is located just northwest of Kleinburg. The board provides these programs free of cost.

CANDY GRAMS

Student Council is selling Candy Grams (pencil, eraser & peanut-free candies) - $1.25 each, from Monday until Wednesday. Candy Grams will be delivered on Friday.
