Our world is ever changing. These changes stretch across the board from industry, to the way we communicate, to the clothes we wear. One aspect that seems to be changing the most rapidly and often influences other types of change is technology. There is big debate on whether all of the rapid technological advancements are beneficial or detrimental to our society. Although there are arguments for both sides, it is almost impossible to deny some of the great things technology has done for us.

1. Connects us. We can share our past, enrich our present and expand our futures through the use of social media. Skype and Google hangouts are great ways to connect with friends, family or coworkers near and far. Texting, calling, and e-mailing have revolutionized the way we keep in touch and these forms of communication only continue to advance.

2. Conserves energy and produces more goods. Technology allows us to find creative alternatives and innovations to using nonrenewable and costly resources. From hybrid vehicles to energy efficient light bulbs, there are ways to save everywhere. One machine can do today in minutes what in years past would have taken days to accomplish.

3. Saves lives. The advancement of medicine and medical treatments has saved many lives and prevented many illnesses. Even the simple act of dialing 9-1-1 is made possible because of technology! It is almost impossible to ignore and even harder to avoid technology's impact in our everyday lives. So roll with the changes and embrace technology's good qualities!
