The Death of the Website and FREE marketing SECRETS

Click Funnels

Websites are a thing of the past! That’s right, having a website is good to have but in today’s world, traditional websites, no longer have the impact they used to when generating leads and gaining customers. Think of a website as nothing more than a brochure. A lot of times brochures have a ton of information in them and are overloaded with information about your company and services you offer.

If I hired a salesperson to go out to a public event and hand out your company brochure to people, do you think that you would get any conversion on the people that have your brochure? Do you think you might get some customers out of the brochure? Would you rather have someone selling a product or service at the event, instead of handing out a brochure?

You might get a customer out of the brochure, but chances are most people wouldn’t even read over it and they would just throw it in the trash. A website is really like a brochure.

It used to be that someone would go to your website and you could direct people to whatever service you provide. The problem is that people are still trying to get customers with a traditional website. If you look around online, you will find that at least 85% or more of websites still use a traditional layout. That is, they have a like 5 main categories with multiple pages in drop down links under each category.

The problem is that’s too much information. People go to your website to try and find something… a product or service. If they can’t find the service or product they will leave. This is called a bounce where the visitor goes to the website for a few seconds, gets confused and leaves. “Confused customers always say NO.”

You want to avoid customers leaving your website and getting confused on where to go on your site. With this in mind, I want to cover something new that has tremendous potential and is a new way of looking at how we do business online. It’s called click funnels.

A funnel is nothing more than a few pages that will funnel people through a sales process for a specific product or service. It’s much more efficient and the customer isn’t confused. You might notice that if you go to they are masters at this. It’s basically a way to have a salesperson selling for you 24/7/365 a year while you attend to normal business operations.

You might have also noticed that site you visited was only 3 pages. It’s straight to the point and you were not confused with what I am doing, or OFFERING were you?

This would be my #1 recommendation for a company trying to convert customers moving forward. Make it simple and less cluttered with less pages to choose from. Trust me I’ve built over 20 different traditional websites over the years for myself and others and have spent 100’s of hours tracking how users behave. You do not want people getting lost or confused on your website. You will not make sales or money in the future with that approach.

(1) The speed and loading time

(2) The appearance or design and look

(3) Navigation – Is it easy to navigate?

(4) Has a CMS system (Read the next section)

(5) Has quality content on each page

2. Affordable SEO marketing methods

Posted on August 5, 2014, 5:15 pm By ckepley

Spending money on marketing a business or website can be difficult.  There are many challenges you may face when it comes to a budget and affordable SEO marketing methods.  Do you have enough money to market or start a campaign and still keep the business on a surplus or (positive balance)?  Who can you trust for marketing that is affordable?

What are ways to market, to reduce cost?

[pic]

There many ways you can market a website or business.  Your first decision should be deciding which direction you want to take to market the business.  Do you want to market offline or online?  I usually try to do both because I can focus on both at the same time with out spending a whole lot of money.  I prefer to Market online however because it tends to be more affordable believe it or not.

What is marketing offline vs. online?

• Online Marketing – Marketing that requires you to use online tools to market such as Social Media, email marketing lists, article writing, PPC marketing, Affiliate marketing, Google Adsense ect…

• Offline Marketing – Marketing that does not require access to the internet.  Handing out business cards, flyers direct sales face to face and so on…

Understanding the relationship between search engines and back links

[pic]

Search Engines are very complex when it comes to determining what makes a good website.  If you understand how they work, it will make marketing more EFFECTIVE.

Search Engine Grading Basics:  There is something called web bots that comb through the millions of websites and content that are out on the internet and the web bots give a grade (so to speak) to the website which determines it’s ranking.

Web Sites are graded based on several factors such as design layout, quality content, keywords, social media, user interaction and back links just to name a few.  It is important to understand that these grading factors that are considered by the search engines, do change from time to time.  A good example of this was the Google PANDA update that was released in 2011.

This update effected millions of people online that were using incorrect marketing techniques or trying to cheat Google.  When I say (CHEAT), I mean that they were using tools that spun up writing content for them based off a keyword.  It was not original material and some people were using auto pilot programs that created artificial back links.  STAY AWAY from tools like these, they will only hurt your website rankings.

Create visibility for your website

[pic]

I like to use the analogy of selling your car to promoting a website.  If you have a Porche, that you want to sell would you keep it in your garage?  Would you just pray and hope someone finds you without doing anything? Chances are with that kind of mind set you will NEVER sell the Porche.  The same concept applies with promoting and marketing a website.

You must CREATE EXPOSURE and VISIBILITY to the WEBSITE.  So how do you go about doing this?

First, you must create back links and start linking up your website to other websites that relate to your topic or that would offer a way to advertise. Think of backlinks as building a network online for different places people can go and have access to view your website.

What is a back link?  Anytime you hear the term back link it means that on either a BLOG or POST that is out on the internet, a LINK exists that points back to another website.   Back links are beneficial because they give you a way to capture traffic off of someone else’s website or BLOG that relates to your NICHE.

So, for example, if you wanted to create a back link to your website you could create the HTML link to your website on your FACEBOOK (ABOUT ME) section.  Anyone that visits your Facebook page can then access your website straight from there without having to go to a Search Engine.  Below is a list of different marketing tools you can use to create back links to capture traffic that DON’T COST ANYTHING.

1. Back link to all your social media pages like FACEBOOK, TWITTER and GOOGLE Plus.  If you don’t have a profile on any of these social media platforms, you will want to do so.

2. Once you have a profile on these social media sites start building up a network by following people who are in your NICHE.

3. Sign up for GOOGLE ALERTS and start making comments and leaving BACK LINKS on other web sites related to your NICHE.

4. Write a few articles and post to Ezine articles, or a couple others that are available.

This is not the meat and potatoes of internet marketing but it will help with drawing traffic to your site so you can start converting some of the visitors to buyers or repeat visitors.

Build Trust with your visitors online

[pic]

One of the most valuable things to visitors that land on your site, is having the feeling of TRUST that you are a legit resource.  There are so many people putting information out on the internet that most of the time it is hard to know whether or not someone is a legit source for the information.

How do you build trust? Be honest with people about the information you are putting out there.  If you don’t know if something works tell people that and ask for some feed back by leaving comments.  One thing I always do is leave my websites open for comments.  It gets conversations going and search engines recognize that as (user interactions) which helps rank you in the search engines.

If people ask questions and contact you directly, respond back to them even if it isn’t making you money right off the bat.  It creates a BRAND with in you and your site.  This creates TRUST which will eventually come back to you in the form of repeating visitors who just might start buying a service or product from you.

3. Make money writing articles

Posted on August 6, 2014, 2:12 am By ckepley

If you are a skilled writer would you like to make money writing articles?  Article marketing is still a lucrative way to make money online.  Although it isn’t as popular as it used to be, it still carry’s a little weight in internet marketing and can be very beneficial for making income if you are a free lance writer.  With that said, if you have a portfolio or a (website/BLOG), your articles can give you the credibility you need to keep visitors on your website or even score you writing jobs for other companies who own websites.

The benefits of free lance writing

[pic]

One of the top skills that is in demand online is freelance writing.  Why is it so high in demand? It’s pretty simple, CONTENT IS KING and yet so many people have problems writing good content.  There are many different avenues a good writer can take to earn income online. I put a list together for you of all the different types of writers you can chose from.

Different types of writers:

1. Article Writing

2. Web Content Writing

3. Blog Writing

4. Copy Writing

5. Technical Writing

6. Ghost Writing

So, you see there are several paths you can take with the skill sets on writing good quality content.  There are a few Freelance sites you can check out right here (eLance, oDesk, Freelancer etc.) if you are interested in Free Lance work.

Now that we have covered free lance writers, I want to cover another way to make money and market a website using ARTICLE MARKETING.

What is Article Marketing?

[pic]

The name article marketing pretty much speaks for itself.  You are writing articles and marketing your articles.  Sounds simple right?  Well it is for the most part however there are a few tips I would like to share on what to do with your articles once you have written them.

Tips on what to do with your articles:

• Either post them on your website, create a blog or post them to article directories. (We will talk more about this later.)

• DO NOT post the same article to both the website and article directory.  If you want to post to both places then you need to create a whole new article on the same topic and post one to the website and the other to the article directory.

Once you have posted an article to a blog or to a article directory, BE SURE to put a link pointing back to your website in the article.  Usually this is done by masking the link in a highlighted word likethis. This is very beneficial to you because it draws traffic back to your website.

Article Directories, a tool for drawing in traffic!

[pic]

An article directory is where people will go to read articles on something, they are interested in.  Before they read an article, they usually do a search under a keyword within the directory.  The directory will pull up a list of articles they can read from, that relate to the keyword they searched for.

It IMPORTANT that when you are writing your articles, that you pick keywords that relate to the topic.  If your article pulls up and the person is searching for articles on say, Women’s running shoes and your article is about men’s running shoes, chances are they will just leave your page the second they start reading.  The main goal here is to write quality articles that people will read and get some valuable information from.

Here is a starter list of some article directories and blogging sites that are good for promoting articles on a topic, product or service.  All of the following sites have good page ranking in the search engines and a lot of people go to these sites every day to read new information and articles being published.

4. Google FREE advertising

Posted on August 7, 2014, 1:08 am By ckepley

About everyone is familiar with Google and thier search engine but not everyone is familiar with all the search engine tools that come with Google.  Google has some good FREE advertising tools which we will cover along with Google Adwords in this article.

 Nothing beats Google’s FREE Advertising!

[pic]

Have you ever heard of Google Plus?   If you own a business, it is a great way to get your name out there fairly quick and get in direct contact with people who might be searching for your product or service.  Become a part of the community with Google Plus and build a network.

Network marketing has always been a way you can advertise a product without doing all the work of a face to face sales pitch.  It allows you to tap into something multi-level marketing companies or (MLM) have been doing for years with out having to coach a down line of people to push a product or service for you.

Now Google has allowed you to create your own community and build a network so that when anything new is released with in your business you can post it as a post or (AD) to your community or followers.  They have basically taken the FACEBOOK advertising concepts and created their own version of advertising straight from their own users on their search engine.

Here is how it works.

1. Type the keyword (Google Places for business) in the Google search engine.

2. CLICK on the link Google places for business at the top of the search results.

3. Create a new business page for Google Plus.

4. Go to EDIT Profile.

Add your picture and a cover background image and you are on your way to advertising in Google.

Google FREE advertising

Just recently Google decided to throw in the towel with Google Plus.

So disregard Google Plus it no longer has any relevance in ranking in search Engines.

Learning Google Adwords and knowing your traffic

Google AdWords is a tool that can be used to leverage keywords on a pay per click campaign to market a website.  It is a paid for service, so we won’t cover too much on this topic for now.  If you are new to Google AdWords, I encourage you to DO YOUR RESEARCH on this topic before tackling it.  It can be an overload of information and can be overwhelming for a lot of people.

The BEST thing to do before utilizing this tool is to get familiar with what your traffic is doing first before you start paying money for a PPC campaign.  There are tools you can use that help with tracking your traffic that I use.  Google Webmaster tools and Google Analytics.

If you are NOT USING these TRACKING TOOLS, you will want to set those accounts up immediately so that you can start watching what your traffic to your site is doing when they land on your pages.

FREE Google Advertising with Google AdSense

[pic]

This is probably the easiest way and most popular way to make money with google.  Google AdSense is a form of advertising that gives you the power to tap into Fortune 500 companies and many other companies outside that scope, that pay Google out of their own marketing budgets for advertising.

Google has come up with a way to allow webmasters to get a (peice of the pie) or commission for advertising other companies that relate with a NICHE that the webmaster has built their website around.

The concept works like this.  Let’s take this page to use as an example.

First off make sure your post, blog or website page has content created around the NICHE you are marketing.  The ADS that Google AdSense displays on your pages will read the content of your page and display ADS according to the related content.

I have created this page around free advertising with Google and Google adwords.

What happens behind the scenes with Google Adsense?

Google requires a simple copy and paste of some code that GOOGLE gives you for posting an AD.   To get this code you have to go through a couple simple steps first.

1. CREATE a Google AdSense account by going to Google and typing in the search field (Google AdSense).

2. Go to the Google AdSense sign in page and sign up for an account.

3. After you have signed up you will capture the code that Google AdSense gives you like seen below in step four.  (Just got to the MY ADS tab in your Google AdSense account.)

4. Take the code and copy it and paste it to your page and you will get an AD displayed on your webpage.  (The AD will display different companies on a rotational daily, weekly type basis, that advertise under keywords that relate with the NICHE or topic.)

Google AdSense code:  Paste code that looks similar to this into your webpage.

Do you want to know how the ad works?

[pic]

What will happen when someone clicks on an AD you have on your webpage, that is from Google Adsense?  When a person clicks on the AD it will take them to a selection of companies.  On the back end of the AD it will direct them to the company on the AD at that given moment, which will have NICHE related products or services offered to consumers.

How does this benefit you?

Every time someone CLICKS on your AD Google Adense will pay you a percentage of the BID price for a keyword a company pays Google on a (per click) basis on that AD.

What are keywords used for and how do they work?

Posted on July 23, 2014, 12:36 am By ckepley

Keywords seem to be a main focal point for internet marketing and search engine optimization. My goal here is to add some clarity to them and simplify the process of finding good keywords to use for ranking your website.

What is a Keyword used for?

[pic]

A keyword is a word that can be typed into a search engine such as Google to find a list of resources (websites) that show up under the keyword you have typed into the search field. Another wards they are used to find something you are looking for. It could be just about anything that you can think of.

An example would be someone who might be looking to fix an air conditioning unit for their house.

When this is typed into the search engine, Google provides the user with what they think are the most useful search results according to the keyword or keyword phrase. The results will be a list of the top websites like websites that can be created from within Wealthy on a Word Press platform for example.

How do keywords help your website get ranked?

[pic]

Search engines have what are called web bots in the background of the internet that go through all the websites on the internet at least once a month and grade a website according to an Algorithm. A search Engine will take results and rank accordingly. That is why it is important to have good engagement with users that visit your website, as well as quality content that will help lead you to getting ranked under keywords. As you move forward with training with W.A., you will notice there is a lot of emphasis on this.

Most people think that they must base their content around the search engines because ultimately that is where your website will get ranked. This is actually a backwards mindset, in reality good quality content and engaging content that focuses on the users reading the content is what the search engines are looking for.

Understanding the true power of a keyword is the most powerful thing an online marketer can use as it is the grounds of someone who is searching for help. Where there is a demand or a need for something, there is a business you can build around that need. The next step after you have found a keyword is to write content targeting the keyword… In my example I would target “fixing a air conditioning unit” for the content that would be going on my website.

It is important that you understand the metrics involved in keywords such as (traffic volume and low competition) through tools that help find good keywords like . Using this tool will give you a significant advantage in beating out your competition in any niche. Below is an example of a keyword search using jaaxy for the keyword phrase “fixing a air conditioning unit”

[pic]

As the picture shows here, there is (monthly searches) which is an estimate of searches done per month on the keyword. QSR is a variable that shows the true number of your competition or competing pages you would be up against in all of Google. Then there is traffic, it is not necessarily important to have high traffic although high traffic is good. I have noticed that high traffic/low competition is hard to find, so I tend to go for what they call (low hanging fruit). An example would be one of the keywords in the picture above (troubleshooting air conditioners). Notice that the traffic is around 47 that is okay. You will find an abundance of these kind of keywords as you perform keyword research using jaaxy that have a QSR of under 300 and are quite easy to rank for.

Once a website gets ranked by Google on the 1st page in search engines their relevant page shows up in the listings. This is the key to getting traffic because your website will end up getting traffic based off the “people” searching for those keywords.

The keywords = Traffic!  Traffic = Opportunity to earn income!

[pic]

Once the traffic is flowing to your website you have the opportunity to make money from the website.  The money made is also passive income, meaning once you have done the work once it never will have to be done again unless your looking to update and make a couple changes to the content.   The money earned on a website can be made in MANY different ways.  You can earn income through PPC marketing and advertising, Affiliate marketing programs like Amazon, you can even build out an email list or build a network of people that are interested in you niche market through Social Media such as Facebook.

One example of an affiliate program for air conditioning units would be .  They offer a 5% commission on net sales that your site generates for central air conditioning units.

If my website were to rank for a keyword such as “trouble shooting air conditioners”, there is a good possibility that my traffic might just buy a new air conditioning unit.  That is better than trying to spend hours trying to fix one themselves or pay money to a technician to come out and possibly fix it, only to have it break on them again later on down the road .  If I sent them to this website through the affiliate program, I would earn a 5% commission on each sale, prices vary on products from 250.00 all the way up to 3,000.00 so the commissions could pay out fairly well.

However, none of this is possible if you don’t have good content.  Quality content is so important and crucial to your success online.

So, as a beginner where do you start?  The first and most important steps are to build a website, find your keywords through keyword research and build out your content around your (targeted keywords), getting the traffic and then earning the money.

So many people just focus on the the money that they loose focus on what makes a website useful to people in the first place.  A question I always ask my clients is “Why should people go to your site?”  It’s certainly not so the customer can help you get paid and leave the customers with nothing of value, right? That would be just plain flat out a WRONG mindset to have if you are doing business in my opinion.  So why should people go to your site?  This will help in creating quality content around your (targeted keywords) that will bring value to people.  If you make that your main focus instead of money, then eventually the money will come next.  Remember though, you have to bring traffic to your site to earn money and you can’t do that without quality content.

Search Engines will find you but you must create content that is quality.

[pic]

Every time you post or create a new page on your website you will want to find a keyword phrase. The concept of your content should revolve around a specific keyword.  At the same time you should also be creating content that brings value to the reader or customer and helps them out in some fashion.

A few years back there was automation tools that people would use that would spin up content and manufacture “FAKE CONTENT” and trick the search engines.  DO NOT DO THIS, it will kill your website rankings and it is no longer relevant in today’s techniques for ranking a website with content.

[pic]

The search engines such as Google do rank websites very well that do provide the value to the reader through content that I have been talking about.  As the time ticks away they are getting better grasp on what constitutes as engaging content, of quality and what should be ranked higher in the search results based off these factors.

Does Every keyword you target get ranked?

[pic]

The answer is NO.  If every keyword you selected got ranked then everyone would be a millionaire.  That is not the way the world works online and in the real world not everyone is a millionaire.  The goal is to post as much quality content as you can under keywords that you select.  Some keywords will rank and some will not.  I know from my own personal experience that when I built my first website I was so focused in on keywords for my websites home page and trying to rank that I forgot about trying to post quality content and guess what… I never ranked.   The reason for this is I was distracted from trying to create more quality content.  Many of my challenge were overcoming the physiological roadblocks within myself.   Forget about just trying to rank under a few keywords, that would be similar to “putting all your eggs in one basket.” Ranking keyword is out of your control. This is why so many people will fail in taking this approach because they spend so much time and energy trying to rank on one or two keywords and they don’t get ranked.  When they don’t get ranked they get discouraged because they have failed and they quit and give up.  Don’t worry about it, just keep creating content.  I can tell you that eventually you will ensure your ranking for a few pages.

Once you have your first page ranked you will get a little motivation to keep going and then before you know it you will have 4 or 5 pages ranking.  If you just keep posting page after page…. before you know it, your at 10 pages ranking.  You see the pattern?  It takes work and some patience.  Someone once told me that “success is guarded by challenges and failures.”  So if you fail don’t look at it as (you are a failure.) People are not failures, they may fail at an event but it does not make them a failure in life.

Are you are still confused or have any questions or concerns about keyword research that you want to discuss? Please feel free to post your question or comment below and I would be delighted to help in any way I can.

Jaaxy – #1 ranked research tool

Posted on July 28, 2014, 4:59 pm By ckepley

Jaaxy -The King of Keyword Research tools with awesome power!

I have to admit that keyword research is the most exciting part in the process of marketing a website. I get really excited when I start looking for keywords because I know there are niches and markets out there that are still waiting to be tapped into. I relate the concept of finding good keywords in the keyword research to the (California Gold Rush of 1848 – 1855). Back then everyone was looking for gold, trying to get their piece of the pie but if you were selling shovels to the people digging for gold you would have made a fortune! The same concept applies for keywords. The search engines are like a huge keyword library to find what it is you need or what it is you are looking for.

My big beef with Keyword tools…

[pic]

I have tried a few of the keyword tools on the market and what I have learned is that each tool can produce a ton of data to cypher through. One thing I like to do is cut right through the fluff when looking for keywords, make a selection of keywords and move on to building the website or page with in my website. However this is easier said than done. Especially when I am spending hours upon hours trying to cypher through data on keywords to pick a good keyword. The problem is, that most keyword tools don’t produce any metrics that obtain any value at all. Here are just a few things to watch for when looking at purchasing or using a keyword tool.

(1) If you have to INSTALL anything, DO NOT USE IT!

(2) A tool that uses Alexa as the key component in determining competition

(3) Anything that provides PPC guesstimates.

(4) A tool that requires several searches to accomplish a single task.

(5) Tools that don’t pull results from ALL search engines

These are all indicators that usually the keyword tool is a low grade search tool. It doesn’t take long to realize that some of these tools provide users with absolutely useless data and are incapable at getting at the meaningful data.

Let me Introduce to you a new tool… Jaaxy Enterprise.

[pic]

Like I said earlier, I really don’t care for most of the keyword tools that are out there. They just don’t provide accurate data or offer to much data and I end up spending to much time trying to find a keyword I want.

When doing research on a niche market there are really just 3 things to pay attention to:

1. What is the competition like for the keyword you are looking at choosing?

2. How much traffic can you get from the keyword?

3. Does your keyword make sense?

The first two are things that JAAXY enterprise can accurately retrieve data on and the last one is really just “common sense”. I have yet to witness a keyword tool that can ACCURATELY report on the first two tasks mentioned above the way JAAXY can.

If you can capture the reporting on competition, traffic and the keywords making sense, you can literally take over the search engines with content and a release of videos for your website. It sounds easy right? That is because it really is that easy, you just have to make sure that these 3 criteria are captured and met. We will get into criteria being met on keywords later but first look at these 3 crucial parts of research. It is a MUST to have this data…

Finding “Income Producing” keywords is a simplified art!

[pic]

The biggest ASSUMPTION or fear based on a LACK of keyword knowledge is that the niche people are wanting to get into has too much competition.

The problem I have is not having enough time to research and find all the “NO COMPETITION”niches that are readily available. If you know how to research keywords with a good quality keyword tool you will find that there is actually an abundance of keywords, ideas and niches that can be utilized to build a full time income from. I guess that would be considered a good problem instead of a bad problem.

With a tool like Jaaxy you can create a successful campaign “at will” because finding keywords in a niche has never been easier.   Having Jaaxy gives you a competitive edge over other keyword tools because you can uncover things that other keyword tools simply can not access.  Below I’ll give a couple of examples on keywords and niches I do not have any knowledge about.  I will show you just how easy it is to find a good keyword with low competition, traffic and a keyword making sense all at the same time.  I’m first going to try and target a keyword that has 300 or below on competing pages in all of the pages in Google.

Casey’s Niche Choice #1: Women’s Lipstick

Search 1: keywords that were found on (women’s lipstick)

ONE search – 12 keywords

[pic]

With one broad search in Jaaxy I have found 12 keyword phrases with a competition of less than 300.  All of these keywords would be fairly easy to rank under in Google.   One search took approximately 20 seconds or less and I came up with 12 keywords I could successfully start a campaign targeting women’s lipstick and women’s lipstick products.

Now lets take another example of niche choice.

Casey’s Niche Choice #2: men’s dress shoes

Search 2: keywords that were found on (mens dress shoes)

ONE search –  25 keywords

[pic]

Just like that I have another selection of keywords to use for my website under (mens dress shoes.)  So for two searches under two totally different niches it took around 40 seconds to pull up data on both of these.  In fact if anyone that was visiting this website and was interested in either of these topics, they would have some really good keywords to work with straight from this search I did myself.

To do this with other keyword tools could literally take hours.  Even then, lets say you got a few keywords that you thought were pretty good, chances are you would waste a lot of time and energy on campaigns because the data you received was not accurate to begin with.  This shows you how efficient Jaaxy really is and how you  can harness the true power of Jaaxy. One other thing that I find is really cool with this tool is the ability to view the domains that are available to buy without going to a hosting company like Name Cheap or GoDaddy.  From the search menu it will give live instant information on what domains you can actually purchase.

[pic]

There are 3 flavors of the SEO keyword suggestion tool.  There is a free trial that runs for 30 free searches, a standard pro edition which gives you a little more access and flexibility and then there is the Enterprise edition.  The Enterprise Edition is by far the most awesome of all 3 giving you complete access to utilize the full capabilities of Jaaxy.  Below is the prices on the 3 selections.

Jaaxy Starter = Free

Jaaxy Pro = $19 per month, $199 per year

Jaaxy Enterprise = $49 per month (discount this week only), $499 per year

I have just brushed the surface of what Jaaxy can do.  There are tools within the system that allow you to view your site rankings so there is no need to go to webmaster tools unless you want to really deep dive into full control of keywords and what campaigns are actually doing on a daily basis.  The site ranking feature will allow you to see where you are and what page your website is actually on and it’s position.

That is better than trying to spend hours trying to fix one themselves or pay money to a technician to come out and possibly fix it, only to have it break on them again later on down the road.

A question I always ask my clients is “Why should people go to your site?”  It’s certainly not so the customer can help you get paid and leave the customers with nothing of value right? That would be just plain flat out a WRONG mindset to have if you are doing business in my opinion.  So why should people go to your site?  This will help in creating quality content around your (targeted keywords) that will bring value to people.  If you make that your main focus instead of money then eventually the money will come next.

Many of my challenge were overcoming the physiological road blocks within myself.

How to find good keywords

Posted on August 20, 2014, 2:25 pm By ckepley

Keyword SEO is essential to getting your website out there on the internet and viewable to 1,000’s of people each day.   With the right keywords in place and set up in your SEO research, you can increase your traffic significantly and start ranking literally within weeks or months.

I personally can attest to this because I was able to rank my URL for this website, to position 6 on the front page of Google within just 1 month for the keyword phrase, “Lion den products.”

So how do you find a good keyword and where do you start? First you need a good keyword research tool. A tool that gives you some deep insight into indicators such as searches per month, competition and Quality Site Ranking. Without knowing this part of your keyword research you will waste a lot of time and money moving forward with marketing your website with SEO and SEO campaigns.

There are several keyword tools out there that you can purchase but I personally LIKE the Jaaxy keyword tool. It is specifically designed to show you all of those indicators I just mentioned and MUCH more.

After you have found a keyword tool you want to use, you will need to know how to find good keywords.   That is what I am going to show how to do if you continue reading this article.

How to find good keywords

When you are looking at a keyword the first thing you should do is pick a keyword phrase that relates with your NICHE. So if I were to market a website on Football equipment, I would look for basic keyword phrases like football gear, football equipment ect…

A good place to go for ideas on keywords is . From you can navigate around in different categories and narrow down your NICHE within a category. This sometimes will help with coming up with a keyword phrase.

The next step is to understand your audience and find a targeted audience that is looking for a specific product or service. You can get more insight into this by finding targeted keywords or sometimes referred to as long tail keywords.

Broad keywords vs. targeted keywords:

• Broad keywords – Are keywords that are high in competition most of the time and are a starting point for finding a long tailed or targeted keyword.

• Targeted keywords – Are keywords that are targeted for a specific NICHE audience that is looking for something specific.

You want to make sure you start your keyword research on a broad phrase starting out because although those are likely going to be saturated with competition you can narrow it down into a more targeted audience or market that has less competition later. You might be wondering why this is beneficial to you. With less competition you are more likely to rank your website and its content faster and more efficiently.

Looking at the competition

[pic]

If you go to Google and type in your BROAD keyword phrase with quotes you can get an EXACT number of competing websites that are on Google’s search engine.

So if I wanted to get the competition number of websites on a keyword phrase like football gear I would type in “football gear” as seen below. You will notice that this gives a number right below which is the competition.

[pic]

If you are not using a tool like Jaaxy then an appropriate number here would be around 60,000. Anything lower is better but 60,000 or less is what you want to focus in on. So for this keyword phrase the competition gives us 1,680,000 which is saturated and not a good keyword.

Just to prove if it is high in competition, you can go to Jaaxy and do a search on the keyword from there as seen in the pic below.

[pic]

You will notice it has a QSR or Quoted Search Result of  269 and that is what your real competition is. Under 300 QSR is excellent but your keyword will have to MAKE SENSE and also have a GREEN light next to the KQI or Key Quality Index, otherwise it is going to be difficult to rank your website even though the QSR is below 300. Key Quality Index is how well your site will be indexed in the search engine under that keyword so make sure it is GREEN.  In this example the keyword football gear would probably not be a good keyword to use since the KQI is Yellow and not GREEN.

So the next step would be to find a new keyword.  This time however, you can use something I like to use called the Alphabet soup technique.

 Alphabet soup and keywords

[pic]

In order to get the most out of your keyword phrase on the search engine you will want to make sure that it makes sense and that it is something specific that people will search for. A great technique that I use for finding good long tailed keywords is the Alphabet Soup technique.

Here is how it works:

Go to Google and type in the keyword phrase you want to use. We will use the “football gear” example.

You will notice that once the full keyword phrase is typed into the search field that there is a list of options for other keyword phrases that pop up.

You can run through the Alphabet starting with the letter A right after the keyword phrase “football gear.” See the example below:  NOTE: You can do this with every letter of the alphabet and get 100’s of ideas for long tail keywords which help target a specific audience.

This is by far in (My experience) the best and most efficient way to find good keywords by using a combination of , the Jaaxy tool and the Alphabet soup technique to come up with keyword phrases that will benefit your website rankings.

Internet marketing has been around since the introduction of the internet and has rapidly evolved along with the internet and search engines.  In fact, the internet has changed so much that sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the changes.  As new tools come online for internet marketers to use, there are also rules that change in regards to (what to DO and what NOT to do) in the internet marketing world.

My main focus is to cover different marketing techniques that can either turn into bad habits and hurt your rankings or distract you from what really matters when ranking a website.

Mistake #1 - Focusing too much on Keyword research tracking

It is a very exciting feeling to get ranked on the first page of Google.  I remember when I got my first website ranked, I was so excited that I immediately started digging around in Google Analytics and Google Webmaster tools trying to determine what my traffic was doing.  There is a necessary time to do this kind of research and normally that would be when you are launching a PPC campaign.

DON'T become obsessed with trying to track keywords from Google Analytics and Google Webmaster tools.  You can literally spend hours trying to decide what to do next with selecting your next keywords and looking for keywords that you may not have thought of before.  So many people get caught up on selecting the PERFECT keyword that they forget about the MOST important factor in ranking a website.  Creating quality content on each page and post they create.  The more content you create the better chance of ranking on keywords and your site becoming an authoritative site.

Once a website is getting ranked, through out time, other keywords will start ranking.  Don't worry about this in the beginning phases of building out your website.  It takes time for this to occur and if this is your focus on keywords then you might end up quitting or getting seriously discouraged when you are not ranking right away under those keywords you selected.

Mistake #2 - Backlinking to banned domains and banned pages

There are a lot of backlinking directories on the internet that claim they can give you the TRAFFIC you need to get ranked on Google.  Do your research before getting involved with any backlink building directory.   These companies that offer these submissions to directories and post your website URL are submitting to pages that are low quality and don't generate much TRAFFIC at all.  There are some directories that

A few years back before the Panda Update that Goolge released, it was okay to have backlinks and backlinks appeared to be good for most websites according to Google Algorithms.  Sites were ranking in search engines that really did not carry any value to them.  Google was getting bad websites ranking on the front page of Google that did not belong there in the first place and because of this users were turning away from Google's search engine.

You can use directory submissions but I would stay away from them.  You DON'T know what you are getting a lot of times and it really is not worth the money spent on backlinks.  They don't carry as much weight as they used to on search engines to be worried to much about backlinks anymore.

You can use GOOGLE ALERTS and create backlinks that way if you want backlinks.

Another mistake that we all can make and is very easy to do, is putting to many ADs on a page of your website.  What is a good number of ADs to put on a website?  There is not an exact answer to this question but I would say no more than 2 or 3.   Depending on what type of ADs are being placed, I usually will put one at the top of the page and one in the middle of the page or the bottom of the page.

The key thing to remember with ADs is that if they are too BIG and there is to many of them you will come off as SPAMMY to your visitors.  No one wants to feel like they are being bombarded by ADs.  You want to keep visitors on your page so when you are placing ADs ask yourself, "would stay on the page if you were a visitor?"

A good size Ad is a medium sized AD and usually I go with a square AD.  NOTE: A good techniques to practice with ADs, is to shorten affiliate links on the back end with a tool like Pretty Link plugin for WordPress.  Label your affiliate links so when visitors hover over the AD or click on the affiliate link it relates with the AD.  An example would be a sign-up offer for Amazon.  You might want to label your ADs affiliate link or shorten it up to read (Amazon-sign up page.)

Mistake #4 - Customer engagement management

When it comes to running an online business one of the most common mistakes made by beginners is that they don't use any method of customer engagement.  They build a website and let it sit there with no comment option open for visitors.

It is crucial when first getting a website off the ground that you spend some time BRANDING yourself or business.  What is branding? Branding occurs when people go to you for a service or product before they go to anyone else.  It happens when you are recognized as being the business or associated with the business.

So how do you get recognized as a BRAND?  The easiest way to get recognition with users visiting your website is to leave your comments section open on your site.  When people can interact with the content you put on a post it makes it more enjoyable for the users reading.  Everyone has an opinion and it gives visitors some comfort knowing that you are open for suggestions or information they might have that you don't.

If you don't respond back to people how do you ever expect to build trust?  If people leave comments for you or ask questions, it is CRITICAL that you respond back.  Response time to comments being left on your site is the BEST way to build trust between you and your customers.  DO THIS one simple task every 2 or 3 days and you will build trust between you and your visitors over time.

Once the trust is there, then you can start getting repeat visitors to your site.

Mistake #5 - Is my writing any good?

This is probably one of the most IMPORTANT and talked about topics in the internet marketing world. Writing good quality content and making sure it relates with your website NICHE is a MUST.

You want to make sure your content that your write has some value to it. If people visit a website that talks about women’s basketball shoes and your NICHE is women’s soccer then chances are visitors will LEAVE your site the second they start reading your content.

The goal is to keep people ENGAGED and reading your content. So make sure that what you are writing is something that people can gain some knowledge on and that it relates to your NICHE.

Writing quality web content

Posted on August 3, 2014, 5:54 pm By ckepley

Writing quality content for your website is one of the most important things you can do to help with your website getting ranked in the search engines.  With that being said, the question that a lot of people ask is “How do you write quality content?”  There is really only one answer to that question and it’s pretty simple.  Write content that gives value to your readers.  Make sure that you write about topics that people can learn from. To get some good ideas on content to write you can look to the search engines or you can turn to GOOGLE ALERTS to get ideas from new blogs being created everyday.

SEO content writing tips

[pic]

There is a method to writing quality web content that will help your readers and help with visitors staying on your website and wanting to READ more.  Before we start on the layout of what makes good quality content, lets first cover a couple rules to follow.  the #1 RULE to follow when writing content.  That is DO NOT COPY other websites content word for word.  It might be okay to take what someone else has written and reword it in your own words or put a twist on it but that is about it.  The #2 RULE is that if you are going to use a copied template that is fine but make sure again that you are changing the words in your header titles and making it into your own words.  The last RULE is DO NOT use too many keywords in a repetitive way.

There use to be an assumption that keyword density in your content mattered and search engines would rank you higher but that is not the case after the Panda update Google released a few years back.

RULES to REMEMBER:

1. DO NOT COPY word for word, others writings

2. Change the header titles in each section from a copied template into your own words if you decide to use someone else’s template.

3. Stay away from keyword density it doesn’t carry much weight

Content that relates with your NICHE

[pic]

Another very important topic to cover is making sure that your content relates to your topic or NICHE that your website revolves around.  So, if you have a website about working from home you might want to make sure that your content has something to do with working from home.  Maybe write some content about reviews on the different types of programs there are on “Working from home”.  There are thousands of programs on Working from home which would give you multiple pages to create content on.

The more content you come up with the better chances you have of ranking under different keywords.  There is one more thing to look at when you are writing content and that is… “DOES the CONTENT FLOW”?

Making sure the content flows

[pic]

When people read content, they want to read content that is easy to read and makes sense.  I have found out just by asking people to read over my own content that I put on the websites I have built, that some people will skim over content while others will read word for word what you have wrote.  This is why if you look over the this page I have written here or any of my other pages on this site, you will notice that I break it down into sections covering different parts of the same topic.

I will also highlight words in bold, underline and include bullet lists so that it makes reading easier on the eyes. This gives a feel and look to the reader that the content is spaced out, organized and flows easily.  ADD a couple pictures, search engines like it when you have a picture here and there on your web pages.  You can also include links within your pages that point back to another page on your website, which shows search engines that you trust your own site.  This another tip helps when it comes to ranking on GOOGLE.

If you can accomplish well written content in this manner you have a much better chance of keeping people on your site for longer periods of time and possibly CONVERTING them to repeat visitors or BUYERS of a product or service.  REMEMBER CONTENT is KING!

Metrics for keyword research

Posted on July 31, 2014, 10:59 pm By ckepley

Are you looking to find quality, targeted keywords or “long tail keywords” to use in your campaigns or marketing strategies? You can start a search with the free keyword generator from Jaaxy to begin your research NOW.

(1.) Your monthly search volume – The first thing you want to look at when it comes to a good keyword is “Does it get any traffic?”  Let’s face it, what good is a keyword on Google or Yahoo if no one is searching the keyword.  No traffic = No opportunity to make money.  You don’t have to go for high traffic all the time but make sure that there is some traffic coming to the keyword.  When you rank under keywords your campaigns grow exponentially.  It’s like the snow ball effect, once the snow ball gets rolling down hill it can’t be stopped as it keeps growing bigger.

(2.) QSR or Quoted search results – This metric is great for measuring competition.  This will instantly gather information in real time on the search engines for the exact number of pages competing under that exact match for a keyword.  You want to try and find keywords that are under 400 but (300) is the ideal number.  If you can find keywords under 300 you are doing even better.  There are millions of keywords out there on Jaaxy that are under 400 and 300.  You will see how obvious this fact is when you JOIN.

(3.) KQI or Keyword Quality Index – This will allow you to gauge the keyword quality.  It’s not as important as the first two metrics I mentioned but it still holds some weight.  You want to make sure that this metric has a GREEN DOT under it when you are looking at your keyword selection.  It’s very useful for determining the quality of the keyword for marketing campaigns using PPC, SEO or any other marketing strategy.

(4.) SEO Power –The last metric to talk about here is SEO ranking.  This determines if the keyword is good enough to actually qualify for SEO ranking.  The easiest way to earn money online is to get rankings simple as that!  It is all based off of traffic, competition, keyword quality and the ability or the nature of the keyword to get ranked.  Jaaxy makes it super efficient to do all of this right from within the system.
