Blessings of peace, love and joy to all of you. Thank you for your presence and participation in our liturgies. As you know, although our Masses on line are no longer available, you may still connect with the Sunday homily from Monday onward by tuning in as you did for the Mass on line. Also, you may participate by virtue of Conference Call to every Mass on Sundays, beginning with the 5:00 pm on Saturday.

This weekend the Archdiocese of Toronto celebrates Marriage Sunday. We bless MARRIED COUPLES present at every Mass. My best wishes to you come from the story of the Wedding of Cana. Many times, in our pilgrimages to the Holy Land, we stop at CANA OF GALILEE, a few kilometres from Nazareth, and there, couples renew their marriage vows. In that story, the best wine comes long after the feast has begun. I pray that for all of you, "the best is still to come". As Mary said to the servants at the feast, "Do whatever He tells you." May we listen to the Word of Christ and allow the Lord, who is present in marriages today, as he was present at Cana, to strengthen and bless our families.

We pray for deceased spouses, as well as bless engaged couples. We also pray, in a special way, for families who have experienced, and still experience breakdowns in their relationships. May the healing love of Jesus grant you peace, love and joy.

NEW ENVELOPES FOR THE YEAR 2022

A number of envelopes (for those who had a new envelope number last year) are still available for pick up in the parish hall. If you did not pick up a new box of envelopes last year, please ask for a new box from Fr. Vito in the Sacristy after mass, or call the office to prepare and then pick up a box during the week. Thank you for your support.

"We have a Lord who is capable of crying with us, capable of walking with us in the

most difficult moments of life"

Pope Francis

Dear friends, I am aware of the pain and sorrow, leading to conflicts of sorts, that the pandemic has caused. I have had the opportunity of sharing some time on the phone and in person with several people. I want to reassure you that you are not alone. My prayers are constantly with you and you are remembered at every mass. Be strong. If at times you feel strength is vanishing, please rely on THE STRENGTH OF JESUS.

With prayerful best wishes, Fr. Vito

"It is so important to listen. Husbands and wives need to communicate to bring happiness and serenity to family life." Pope Francis

BLESSED IS THE ONE WHO TRUSTS

HOMILY ONLINE

In the first reading this Sunday we learn all about the importance of trust. The Lord says to the prophet Jeremiah, "Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord ... That person shall be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream. It shall not fear when heat comes, and its leaves shall stay green." Let us take some time to reflect on the role of trust in our lives as stewards. Being a steward involves the total gift of our time and talents to our parish community for the good of the Church. However, despite all our good deeds, we may not always see the fruit of our labours. The parish vitality may still seem bleak or people may still seem to lack interior conversion. However, this is where the need for trust comes in. We must trust that God will surely bless our stewardship and bring about great graces, even though we do not see them. Whenever we begin to lose hope because of the slow progress in our ministry, we can look to our own lives for reassurance. We ourselves probably didn't have a conversion experience the first time we heard the Gospel. All of those moments were instead slow and gradual movements the Lord used to bring us to where we are now. Let us trust that God is silently doing great things through the gift of ourselves and strive to work ever more ardently.

Reminder that each Monday you may tune in to hear the homily of the previous Sunday with images that help us understand more clearly the message and where it was proclaimed. You may access this recording on our website at or on our YouTube channel.

PARISH YOUTH MINISTRY

St. Patrick's Youth Ministry would like to invite you to participate in an act of almsgiving as we prepare for this year's Lenten Season. We are asking the community to prepare CARE PACKAGES with NEW care products that will be distributed to less fortunate people within the community and in other areas of the city. This can include toothpaste, socks, hats, mittens, gloves, ets. You may bring these items to church and leave them in designated areas near the entrance. For further information you may contact spywildfield@. Thank you and blessings.

A NEW PHONE NUMBER FOR OUR CONFERENCE CALLS

Please be advised that the number to contact us by conference call (Sunday Masses / Saturday 8 p.m. Rosary / Baptism instruction) has changed. The new Conference call number is 1-587-405-1252. The Access Code number remains the same 733-93-13.

For those who called last Tuesday for baptismal Instructions, please try again on the third Tuesday of the month, February 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Lent begins with ASH WEDNESDAY on March 2, 2022. We are reminded of the meaning of Lent as a time of repentance, change of heart, and prayer. On ASH WEDNESDAY, Masses will be celebrated at 8:30 am in English; 10:00 am in Italian and 7:30 pm in English. This year, due to COVID, we will NOT be collecting blessed palm branches from previous years. Over the next two bulletins we will be presenting information with regards to LENT AT ST. PATRICK'S 2022.

Pope Francis has launched the Synod on Synodality: a two-year global process of listening to the faithful that will help the Church reflect on how we can do God's will in the world today. The comments of the faithful will ultimately be discussed at a meeting of the bishops in the Vatican in 2023. To learn more about the Synod on Synodality and to share your thoughts, please visit: synodality.
