ADDENDUM TO THE 2016 UIL CLASS 6A REGION I TENNIS TOURNAMENT The following guidelines and regulations should be added to the UIL Class 6A Region I Tennis Championships Guidelines Handbook which was emailed recently to District Directors, Athletics Directors and Coaches. While UT Arlington Athletics serves as the host and the UT Arlington coaches are serving as the Tournament Directors, all persons participating in and facilitating the Regional Tournament must adhere to the Arlington Tennis Center facility use regulations at all times as noted below. Coaches are NEVER to bypass the customer service staff to ‘choose a court,’ or allow their players to do so.Teams must adhere strictly to the team practice court assignments and practice time.Teams will be allowed no more than three courts for practice, in one-hour increments.Alternate Site: UT ArlingtonShould weather cause delays, we will use the courts at UT Arlington as an alternate site. Tournament Desk / Report ScoresThe tournament desk will be located under the southwest covered patio.Players are to report all scores to the site director at the tournament desk promptly after completing matches.MedalsMedals will be awarded at the tournament desk, once place is determined.Souvenirs Souvenirs, including commemorative T-shirts, letter jacket patches, etc., will be available for sale at the promotional desk located near the tournament desk.Facility RulesAlcoholic Beverages: Alcoholic Beverages are prohibited on the property (including the parking lot) at ATC. If alternate sites are used for this event, it is the responsibility of the player's guests (players are not age eligible for alcoholic beverages) to learn in advance the facility's policy regarding alcoholic beverages, and abide by those policies.Cell Phones and Electronic Devices (e.g., tablets): Spectators who use cell phones or other electronic devices on the property should be mindful of whether their conversations or use of their devices (e.g., game play) poses interference with tournament play, or normal business operations of the facility. Thank you for your cooperation. Dress Code: We require that players and spectators wear traditional attire appropriate for a family tennis environment. All guests (players and spectators) are required to wear shirts (including ladies wearing shirts over sports bras), with no bare stomachs / abdomens. Shorts and skirts should be of an appropriate length, as well. As determined by facility management, attire with offensive, suggestive or disrespectful images or language will not be allowed. Players and spectators who do not dress appropriately will be required to adjust their attire.Pets: Pets are prohibited in the Arlington Tennis Center Pro Shop/building and inside the fenced areas around the courts. If alternate locations are used for the event, it is the player's responsibility to learn in advance any regulations at specific facilities regarding pets, and to abide by those policies.Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in the Arlington Tennis Center Pro Shop/building and inside the fenced areas around the courts, as well as 50' from any fence line or entry/exit. If alternate locations are used for the event, it is the responsibility of age eligible players (or their guests) to learn in advance the smoking policies at specific facilities regarding smoking, and to abide by those policies.Spectators: Spectators are always welcome. However, spectators are not allowed on court at any time.Water: Water coolers are not placed on court at Arlington Tennis Center. A commercial ice machine and water fountain are located on the west patio and players and guests are also welcome to purchase bottled water, fountain drinks, sports drinks and juices in the Pro Shop. Players are encouraged to bring their own water to their matches. Videography/Photography: Personal videotaping and photography are not allowed at Arlington Tennis Center, except persons who are videotaping 'their' player (parent, guardian, coach or person designated by the parent/guardian) from a non-distracting position off court OR persons designated by ATC staff to photograph or videotape aspects of the tournament for use in print or on public websites. Personal videotaping or photography equipment may not be affixed to any facility property, including fencing. The umpire or tournament staff may direct the videotaping or photography to stop if it is determined that the action is interfering or distracting to either player. Coach Responsibility: Coaches must provide facility management with their name and contact information. Player behavior that is considered to be destructive, abusive or inappropriate will be reported to the team coach for disciplinary action.Stringing: Costs for stringing: $16 if customer provides string, $14 + cost of string if string is purchased from ATC. Waivers are required for racquets requested to be strung out of recommended tension range, or for customers who bring their own string.ProtocolsAs a courtesy, ATC management asks that coaches speak with their teams in advance about proper behavior at the facility, specifically with regard to being respectful of the facility and staff.To conserve space in the Pro Shop, as well as maintain safe walking pathways in the shop, teams should not congregate in the Pro Shop or locker rooms for long periods of time. Tennis bags should also be collected outside, not in the shop. ParkingThere is no charge for customer parking at Arlington Tennis Center.NO BUS OR OVERSIZED VEHICLE PARKING at ATC. Above condition includes, but is not limited to, passenger vehicles /vans that extend beyond the parking space depth, RVs and campers. ATC staff have arranged off-site parking for busses and other oversized vehicles in the softball complex parking lot located at Bob Duncan Center, 2800 S Center St, Arlington, TX 76014, which is located 0.8 miles from ATC. See map below. Note: Do not park in the small lot just south of BDC. That area is reserved for BDC customers.
