I V RTI 4 (1) BRegarding the Right to Information ActGovernment of Karnataka under the provisions of the Karnataka RTI Act 2000 and the letter of the Government vide A E18.6. The details of the insurance department are listed in this manual.(1) Details of organization, functions and duties. The Directorate of Government Insurance Department of Karnataka is located in Bangalore and District Insurance Offices are functioning in all districts. The Insurance Department functions under the Director, four Deputy Directors, and 39 District Insurance officer-Assistant Directors.Each branch of the department has different branches, and in these branches the case workers handles the files, and The Superintendent performs the supervisory function. District Insurance offices are headed by District Insurance officers.Functions: -The functions of this department are divided into 4 parts which are as follows.1. Officer Branch:? Mandatory life insurance for eligible employees of the state government.? Loan sanction.? Settlement of Maturity, death claims and surrender value.2. Motor Branch:? Insurance for government vehicles.? Insurance for vehicles with government financial interest.? Insurance renewal.? Claim settlement in the event of an accident.3. Family Benefit Fund.? Supervision and administrative management of the corporation, board, corporation, subsidized school, municipal employee Family Benefit Fund case.4. State Government Employees Group Insurance scheme.? State Government Employees Group Insurance scheme Scheme has been implemented with effect from the year 1982 and it has been entrusted with the responsibility of administering it to the Insurance Department from 10-03-2011. The scheme is self-financed and self-financed with a monthly salary of employees. Rs.105 / - per employee will be credited to the Rs.3125 insurance fund and Rs.6, 875/- savings fund. Government employees are divided into four categories - A, B, C and D, and are collected monthly at Rs. 480/-, Rs. 360/-, Rs. 240/- and Rs.120/- (Amendment from 1-12-2018)2. Authorization and Duties and Procedure for Decision Making1. Officer Branch:? Submission of files prepared by the Case worker to the Superintendent and then submitted to the District Insurance officer / Assistant Director with appropriate recommendation.? District Insurance officer / Assistant Director approves the insurance proposal up to Rs.15.00 lakhs and settles the loan sanction and claims up to Rs.5.00 lakhs.? Submission of orders to Deputy Directors concerned with appropriate recommendation for the approval from District Insurance officer / Assistant Director of insurance proposal for Rs.15, 00,001/- to Rs.20,00,000/-Settlement of Deputy Directors.? Director will accept insurance proposals ranging from Rs.20,00,001/- to Rs.25, 00,000./-? Insurance proposals excess of Rs.25,00,001/- The Director, shall have the right to seek the expert opinion from Health and Family Welfare Services, Bangalore and can approve or disapprove the expert opinion.? Submission of claims amounting to over Rs.8, 00,000/- the decision of the directors in these cases is final.? Internal audit and office inspection of cases settled in each district by the concerned Deputy Director.2. Motor Insurance Branch:? Supervision of work of the Motor Insurance Branch by the Deputy Director, Motor branch, Headquarters.3. Family Benefit Fund? In charge of the Family Benefit Fund settlement cases, the respective District Insurance Officers and Deputy Director, BBT. Overseeing and managing the accounts of these funds by the Branch.4. State Government Employees Group Insurance Fund? The Directors and Administrators of the Small Savings Department were present on 10-03-2011 for the project which commenced on 01-01-1982. Government Notification No: Director of the Department of Insurance has been appointed as the Administrative Officer under FD.08.savio.2010, 10-03-2011. From 10-03-2011 it is the responsibility of the Department of Accounts Management of the project.All the functions of the department are under the supervision, inspection and administrative control of the Directors. 3.
