1. Venue and dates of the event

The Seminar on Space Weather and ICAO Weather Information Exchange Model (IWXXM) will be held from 16 to 20 July 2018 in Panama City, Republic of Panama, at the facilities of the Civil Aviation Authority of Panama, Salon Azul, Edificio 646, Albrook.

4. Registration of participants

Participants are required to register in advance, online, by completing the application form available by accessing the following link:

The registration confirmation will take place on the first day of the event, from 08:30 to 09:00 hrs., for which duly completed registration form should be presented. Participants are also asked to use the badge that will be supplied during the event.

5. Schedule of the Seminar

The Schedule of the Seminar will be from 09:00 to 15:30 hours.

6. Language and documentation

The Seminar on Space Weather and ICAO Weather Information Exchange Model (IWXXM) will be carried out in English and Spanish. The documentation will be published at ICAO SAM Office website, option Meetings, , as it becomes available, so participants should review this page frequently. No documentation is foreseen for distribution during the development of the event, therefore, it is recommended that participants bring it printed or in suitable electronic device (laptop, tablet, etc.).

8. Temperature

During the month of July, the temperature in Panama varies from 25°C to 30°C. The average humidity is of 64%.

9. Passport, visa and vaccination requirements

Updated passport and visa with six (6) months validity are normally requested. Nevertheless, it is recommended to verify in Panamanian Embassies and/or missions of the corresponding country, regarding these requirements. Likewise, it would also be appreciated to verify if yellow fever or any other vaccination is required:

10. Money exchange and credit cards

The currency usually used in Panama is the US-Dollar.

Credit cards as American Express, Mastercard and VISA are usually welcomed in hotels, stores and restaurants. Traveler checks should be changed at currency exchange houses or banks.

It is recommended to carry cash in US-Dollars or Balboas for the payment of taxi services as well as for purchases in small stores.

11. Transportation

Transportation to and from the airport

It should be noted that Panama is in the expansion and maintenance phase of its main streets and avenues, which is why it is suggested to take preventive measures and consider an additional time for transfer to avoid the traffic congestion, which is generated at different schedules.

At the Tocumen International Airport there is an authorized taxi service.

The rate of the selective transport - taxis – from the Tocumen International Airport to the hotel zone and vice versa, is approximately US$35.00 (additional person US$12.00). You can confirm the rate at the counters located after leaving the migration station at the airport. For security reasons, it is recommended to use the authorized taxi services of the Tocumen Terminal, located on the ground floor of the airport’s passenger terminal. Transportation to and from the event venue

Participants can get by taxi to Civil Aviation Authority premises at Edificio 646. It is suggested to use taxis from the recommended companies for city transfers, with prudent time for arrival:
