He was succeeded in 1971 by Bob Shields. In 1972 the troop became sponsored by the Church and meetings were held there until about 1980. Many young men earned the Eagle Scout award during the early years. There was a lapse for around 4 years until the troop from Kasson Road, Troop 360, began meeting in the church as Troop 66 in 1984. By 1987, that troop disbanded and there was no troop until late 1987 when then cubmaster Jim Spinks started the troop up again and is flourishing to this day. Ed Reifler took over for Jim around 1992, as Jim stepped down to devote more time to Spinks Memorial Camp, and the Explorer Post. During Ed’s tenure, the troop produced quite a few Eagles. After Ed, Dave Sedlack and Dennis O’Rourke were scoutmasters. By that time, the cub pack had 140+ cub scouts, led by cubmaster Doug Shields. There were 3 troops in town at that time, and the troop was fortunate to be able to advertise and recruit a good portion of these fine young men to build the troop to 40+ scouts strong by 2004. During this time a lot of scouts made Eagle a rate of one every year. At one time, four generations of one family were in uniform receiving Eagle vespers. That was quite a sight, indeed. There were 5 patrols, and they were all run by the scouts. This task is not an easy one, but with the help of the church, leaders, and the scout’s parents it is an integral part of this successful troop. Recently, there have been two Eagles per year, with 2014 yielding four Eagles. Below is a list of Eagles, their projects, and the leaders over the years. After being sponsored by various organizations in the community throughout the years, the Cub Scout Pack 166 is now sponsored by the MUMC, with the Cubmaster Jason ClarkeTroop 66 Eagle ScoutsEthan Tanguay 2016Project: Painted exhibit building in Baltimore woods Baltimore Woods WebsiteWill Kisil 2016Project: Collected goods and supplies for the Syracuse SPCA on Malloy Rd.Matthew Winoski – 2015Project: Replaced fence at Skaneateles Conservation area, Guppy FallsPatrick Crosley – 2015Project: Built handicapped picnic tables at the Erie Canal Park, Camillus NYCamillus Erie Canal Park WebsiteRyan Quinlan – 2014Project: Built trail and SUNY ESF Heidelburg Forest Tully, NYSean King – 2014Project: Collected and made up bags for kids placed in protective servicesSean Winoski – 2014Project: Refurbished courtyard and plants at Marcellus High SchoolMatt Bailey – 2014Project: Labeled plants in Baltimore WoodsBaltimore Woods WebsiteNate Long – 2013Project: Cleared trails at Erie Canal Park, erected a sign that says “Clintons Ditch”Camillus Erie Canal Park WebsiteRobert Mayers - 2012Project: Kiosk construction at the Skaneateles Conservation Area, Skaneateles, NYSteven Larison - 2012Project: Bench construction and trail maintenance at the Camillus Erie Canal Park, Camillus, NYCamillus Erie Canal Park WebsiteBryan Koes - 2011Project: New sign at Baltimore Woods, Marcellus, NYBaltimore Woods WebsiteRyan Long - 2010Project: Trail on Frenchmen's Island on Oneida LakeScott Larsen - 2010Project: Trail clearing at Highland Forest, Fabius, NYHighland Forest WebsiteGreg Massara - 2009Project: Plant identification along trail at Marcellus Park, Marcellus, NYMarcellus Park WebsiteTom Selesky - 2009Project: Picnic tables and bird houses at St. Michael's, Syracuse, NYSt. Michael's Church WebsiteDavid Gooden - 2009Project: Fishing and walking trail at Pratt's Falls County Park, Manlius, NYPratt's Falls Park WebsiteSam Schneider - 2009Project: Trail, bridge, and fire ring repair in Spinks Memorial Camp, Marcellus, NYSpinks Memorial Camp WebsiteKeith Shields - 2008Project: Trail markers throughout Baltimore Woods, Marcellus, NYBaltimore Woods WebsiteGregory Kelly - 2008Project: Clearing brush and trees for St. Michael's Church, Syracuse, NYSt. Michael's Church WebsiteEric Shields - 2007Project: Track center at Baltimore Woods, Marcellus, NYBaltimore Woods WebsiteKevin Daily - 2007Project: Storage shed for Marcellus United Methodist Church, Marcellus, NYMarcellus United Methodist Church WebsiteCasey Clark - 2006Project: Clearing brush at Carpenter's Brook Fish Hatchery, Elbridge NYCarpenter's Brook WebsiteDavid Selesky - 2006Project: Storage shelves for St. Francis Xavier Church, Marcellus, NYSt. Francis Church WebsiteJeremy Tanner - 2005Project: Picnic tables for Carpenter's Brook Fish Hatchery, Elbridge, NYCarpenter's Brook WebsiteThomas Nowak - 2004Project: Gleaning of farms and donating food to Food Bank of CNY, East Syracuse, NYFood Bank of CNY WebsiteTyler Nowak - 2004Project: Gleaning of farms and donating food to Food Bank of CNY, East Syracuse, NYFood Bank of CNY WebsiteWilliam Howley - 2003Project: Clearing shore line at Otisco Lake Park, Marietta, NYOtisco Lake Park WebsiteChristopher Davie - 1999Project: Fence and trails at Baltimore Woods, Marcellus, NYBaltimore Woods WebsiteDouglas Higgins - 1998Project: Handicap accessible ramp at St. Francis CCD center, Marcellus, NYSt. Francis Church WebsiteThomas Palmer - 1997Project: Trails and park benches at Baltimore Woods, Marcellus, NYBaltimore Woods WebsiteMichael Higgins - 1996Project: Physical rehab equipment for children at St. Camillus, Camillus, NYSt. Camillus WebsiteSeth Greenfest - 1995Project: Emergency Services house identification projectRyan Riefler - 1994Project: Lean-to construction at Spinks Memorial Camp, Marcellus, NYSpinks Memorial Camp WebsiteMartin Kelly - 1994Project: Painting and identification of fire hydrants, Marcellus, NYNathan Legnetto - 1994Project: Renovation of Pond in Spinks Memorial Camp, Marcellus, NYSpinks Memorial Camp WebsiteRyan Gates - 1993Project: Jim "Bump" Spinks Memorial Trail in Spinks Memorial Camp, Marcellus, NYSpinks Memorial Camp WebsiteProject: Jeramy Amidon – 1991 Project: 6 picnic tables in Spinks Memorial Camp, Marcellus, NYSpinks Memorial Camp WebsiteDave ShieldsProject: Cleaned up cemetery plot on Route 174 west of Otisco LakeDoug ShieldsProject: Demolition of old barn at Baltimore WoodsGeorge ShieldsProject: Thesis on Disappearing Lake, cleaned up trash that could clog lake vents Other Scouts?rbshields@Troop 66 Scoutmasters1958-1971Don Gallinger1972-1980Bob Shields1984-1987Kasson Road Troop Moved here Mark Ramsden(?)1987-1992Jim Spinks1992-1998Ed Reifler1998-2000Dave Sedlack2000-2001Dennis O’Rourke2001-2004Scott Tanner2004-2006Dave Nowak2007Vince Massara2008Dan Gooden2010-PresentBrian F Winoski ................
