|Pre-supposed knowledge: During this topic, pupils have explored and reflected upon the events of Holy Week and the Trial and |

|Arrest of Jesus. In the previous lesson pupils looked at the death of Jesus. They developed knowledge of the stations of the |

|cross and they participated in discussion focused upon the feelings of those present at Jesus’ crucifixion. Pupils also |

|reflected upon why Jesus died for humanity. |

|Scribes and Pharisee - important Jewish leaders. |

|Passover - An eight day Jewish festival remembering the Israelites escaping captivity. |

|Holy week - Commemorates the last week in the life of Jesus - his trial & arrest. |

|Good Friday - commemorates the execution of Jesus by crucifixion. |

|Crucifixion - The act of crucifying; execution on a cross. Stations of the|

|cross - The 14 crosses of this devotion, often accompanied by images or pictures representing the events of the Passion of |
