ROSALIE CROSS

Rosalie (Smelcer) Cross, age 83 of Linn, (formerly of Dixon) passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019, at her residence. Rosalie was born September 24, 1936 in Crocker, a daughter to the late Grover and Marcia (Stokes) Smelcer.

Rosalie was a 1954 graduate of Crocker High School.

On August 13, 1955, she was united in marriage to Benjamin Carl Cross.

Rosalie worked for the Pulaski County Courthouse, the Dixon Drive In, Great Plains Gas, Brown Shoe Company and Missouri National Guard Credit Union (River Region Credit Union) before retiring. She also babysit for many children in both Dixon and Jefferson City.

Rosalie is survived by four daughters: Joanna (Donnie) Boulware and Carla (Jeff) Kemp both of Edwards, MO, Connie (Bruce) Gentry of Garner, NC. and Teresa (Mark) Heidbrink of Linn; six grandchildren: Steven (Mariah) Boulware, Amber (Thayne) Rhoads, Nicole Boulware and Kayla, Lexie and Janay Heidbrink; three great grandchildren: Lauren and Maylee Rhoads and Mason Boulware; two sisters-in-law: Bernadine Smelcer of Kansas City and Bonnie Smelcer of Rolla as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rosalie was preceded in death by two brothers, Everald and Cyrus Smelcer and two sisters and their husbands, Dorothy (Carl) Binder and Hazel (Bill) Keen.

In keeping with Rosalie's wishes, she will be cremated, and a celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 11, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., at Community Christian Church, 1598 Highway 50 E., Linn, Missouri.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to St Jude's Research Hospital or to the Shriners Hospital for Children.

David Carl Best, of Florissant, was born on January 9, 1951, at Colorado Springs, Colorado, a son of Lester Walter and Edith Maxine (Hamilton) Best and departed this life at 11:56 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2019 at his residence. David had attained the age of 68 years, 11 months and 14 days.

David was a 1969 Dixon High School graduate and went on to graduate from the University of Missouri Rolla with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. He had worked for the Department of Interior in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and

Troy, MO, died when the vehicle she was driving traveled off the right side of the roadway and she overcorrected, causing the vehicle to return to the roadway and overturn. Rutledge was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. The crash occurred on Highway H in Silex, MO, in Lincoln County. Lincoln County Ambulance personnel pronounced Rutledge deceased at the scene.
