Fleet Maintenance Administrator

Job Overview

We are currently seeking an individual to work with our strategic engineering team as a Fleet Maintenance Administrator in our Jacksonville, FL offices. This position requires travel – up to 25% and sometimes short notice.

You will have responsibility to conduct vessel surveys, develop technical shipyard specifications and facilitate fleet wide dry dock request for the quote process, and work closely with shipyards as noted below. You will also maintain engineering contracts documentation and procedures control in the team’s SharePoint site. Details of what you will be doing:

Develop financial and technical bid analysis, to formulate fleet award strategies for review and recommendations to business unit senior management.

Negotiate last and final shipyard awards based on approved strategies.

Oversee the preparation, revision and negotiation of contract terms and conditions.

Conduct post shipyard project review and create a detailed financial analysis comparing awarded and final values.

Conduct shipyard audits in conjunction with the audit team.

Required Experience

5 - 8 years shipboard experience, understanding marine engineering specifications, contract administration; sailing or vessel repair experience preferred.

Additionally, the successful candidate will display the following key competencies:

Understanding marine engineering specifications

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products specifically Word, Outlook and Excel; intermediate proficiency with SharePoint and PowerPoint programs.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team.

Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives.

Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate effectiveness with contract development, negotiation and administration.

Knowledge of maritime contracting, including the BIMCO system and terms.

Although not required, any one (or more) of the following is preferred:

Sailing or vessel operational experience preferred.

Required Education

The successful candidate will have an Associate’s degree or some college coursework completed with a focus in accounting, finance or a related field. Bachelor’s degree with experience in reliability engineering and/or project management preferred.
