Job title: Clinical Skills TechnicianReports to: School Technical ManagerDepartment:School of Health Sciences Location:EastbourneGrade:4Purpose of the role: Working as part of the technical team within the School of Health Sciences to assist with the provision of technical support for a range of teaching, research and entrepreneurial activities.Main areas of responsibility: Be responsible for the specialist technical support in clinical skills rooms and simulation suites within the school facilitating an effective learning environment for students and staff.Be responsible for maintaining the clinical and non-clinical equipment and consumables stock across the school ensuring clinical stocks are maintained at minimum stock levels for the safe treatment of patients.Be responsible for maintaining all clinical instruments and equipment to a clinical standard and liaising with specialist contractors when required. Be responsible for the safe disposal of clinical waste across the school.Be responsible for supporting the technical purchasing processes using the appropriate finance software and to undertake ordering across the school where appropriate.To provide technical support to the research activities of the school under the direction of the School Technical ManagerTo assist with reporting IT faults to the Service DeskTo arrange for any movement or loans of IT equipment and periphery equipment.To be a School DSE Assessor and undertake DSE assessments.
