4842510-12382500BookkeeperJob DescriptionREPORTS TO: Finance ManagerPURPOSE OF JOB: Responsibility for managing the day to day, weekly and monthly finances of the charity (SPEAR & QHT) and supporting the Finance Manager with other financial tasks as required.Salary:?21,000 per annum (pro rata)Working Hours:15hrs per weekPRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Bookkeeping responsibiltiesTo be responsible for managing the bookkeeping work for a SPEAR and QHT as well as sales, purchases and nominal ledger management. ?This role will also assist the audit team with queries during the preparation of year end accounts and assist the Finance Manager with ? ad hoc finance duties.?anisational ResponsibilitiesTo be responsible for contributing to the running of SPEAR’s integrated services for homeless peopleSPECIFIC DUTIES:Bookkeeping to trial balanceMaintenance of Supplier and client reportsClient invoicing on Quickbooks and checking billing decision reportsPreparing credit notes and write offsImplementing and controlling the client Direct Debit SystemAnalysing credit cards, including excel analysis and data entry onto QuickbooksPreparation of income reports for specific projectsAssisting the Finance Manager in the production of management accountsBanking cash and cheques for the organisationMonitoring petty cash and recording on QuickbooksAdhering to SPEAR’s Financial Policies and Procedures at all timesContribute to regular team meetingsParticipate in staff management and support systems in line with SPEAR’s policies and proceduresMaintain a safe and appropriate physical environment for staff and service users, in line with SPEAR’s Health and Safety PolicyLiaise and work with all internal stakeholders to deliver an effective SPEAR wide service Undertake other duties as your line manager should require in keeping with the responsibility of the postBookkeeperPerson Specification QUALIFICATION (DESIRABLE):AAT or qualified by experienceSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):Experience of accounting or bookkeeping in practiceAbility to use QuickBooks or similar accounting softwareGood working knowledge of Excel and ability to take initiative and design reports and information sheets to be presented to managementExperience of assisting with the preparation of management accounts and annual accountsUnderstanding of how financial management supports wider organisational success.Understanding of financial management in the charity, public and/or voluntary sectorExcellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present and explain financial information clearly to non-finance staffThe ability to establish good working relationships with internal and external colleagues.Excellent attention to detailEffective time and workload management An understanding of and commitment to confidentiality and professional boundariesSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE (DESIRABLE):Experience of Housing Benefit or rent accounting ................
