Trailer delivers and unloads used tires; load is scanned in. ? 7-step inspection is conducted, on computer, after scanning the bar code on the tire which reveals all pertinent details for the tire. ? The tire gets “junked” if it doesn’t pass the inspection.? If the tire passes the injection, it is placed into the Shearography machine: It uses coherent light or coherent soundwaves to provide information about the quality of different materials in nondestructive testing, strain measurement, and vibration analysis. (6 months of hands on and 1 day of certified training is required to run the machine.)? Next, a computer-controlled radial buffing system is used to ensure optimal undertread depth. Precise buffing is critical to retread performance as a correct undertread contour promotes long, even treadware.? Next, skiving occurs; it is the process of removing all injuries or scorched materials from the tire's surface to prevent injuries from growing.? The next step is for the tire to be repaired, this includes: bead repairs, reinforcements, and patches. (6 months of hands on and 3 days of certified training is required to repair tires.)? The builder will then measure and apply the recurred tread to the tire casing. The ends of the tread are spliced together, temporarily with staples to hold it in place during curing. Finally, the tread is stitched to the casing.? Before a tire is cured, it first receives a curing envelope to ensure temperature and pressure uniformity in the curing chamber. The tire is then cured for an average of 3 hours at a temperature of 190 degrees.? A final inspection will occur after being removed from the chamber.? The tire will then be painted and scanned out of the inventory.Job Qualifications and Skills: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). Must be at least 18 years old.
