PURPOSE

1. To support a process of significant and complex organisational change

2. To support the development of the financial strategy, support the implementation of new financial systems and ensure finance due diligence is appropriately conducted.

3. To interpret and assimilate a wide variety of information into detailed accurate and flexible financial modelling

4 To appraise a range of existing financial systems and processes, and develop workable standardised solutions.

Finance and Reporting

Management Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. To prepare financial modelling of various scenarios to support the Executive Leadership team (ELT) Working Group and Board in the development and implementation of the "Securing Our Future" (SOF) strategy.

2. To prepare and present reports based on financial models in relation to Securing Our Future.

3. To provide advice, guidance and support on financial matters to Relate centres during the Securing Our Future transition period.

4. To model the results of different finance options in relation to financing Securing Our Future costs.

5. To support the Head of Finance in advising on related property matters. 6. To participate as required in any due diligence processes around Securing Our Future. 7. To support the development and implementation of new financial systems and

processes. 8. To support the integration financially of centres who wish to join Relate, standardising

and improving processes and systems to reflect best practice and to ensure efficient and effective. 9. To support the process of financial reporting for the centres who join Relate. 10. To provide high quality financial information and advice to Relate managers and in particular to support any income generation activities. 11. To analyse the reporting requirements of any new business model and to recommend appropriate formats 12. To develop and implement an appropriate procurement policy ensuring best practice is taken into account.

Compliance and internal controls

13. To analyse processing and procedural requirements and recommend standard procedures and systems to be followed across the organisation.

14. Ensure suitable internal controls are in place. 15. Assist in the training of staff in new processes or procedures.

Integrated planning and performance management

16. To assist in the development and management of a planning and performance management framework that addresses organisational requirements

17. To assist in the identification of effective KPls.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications/education/training Essential:

Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or other recognised qualification)

Experience: Essential:

Experience of successfully implementing substantial change in financial processes procedures and systems

Experience of financial modelling and costing services in a complex organisation

Experience of handling the requirements of internal and external stakeholders credibly within a change environment

Proficiency in financial accounting and monthly management reporting Experience of contributing to successful culture change and new ways of

working Experience of working within a project team and ensuring delivery targets

are met on time and to budget

Desirable: Experience of managing across a Federated structure

Knowledge and understanding Essential:

Knowledge of different contractual and funding arrangements Knowledge of specific accounting, taxation and other compliance requirements

for charities Knowledge of Treasury management Exposure to different types of Management Information systems

Desirable: Knowledge and/or experience of Relate's work and practice

Skills, abilities and qualities Essential:
