Job Summary:

The role involves the setup, improvement and control of processes. This involves monitoring and controlling rework, reacting to in-line yield issues to minimise product scrap and monitoring electrical yield. It also includes monitoring SPC charts and reacting to out of control situations. Identifying and driving process improvement projects, qualifying new equipment and implementing new processes and designs area also key to the role.

Key Responsibilities: ? Document, sustain and improve processes/ measurements. ? Ensure measurements are optimised to protect downstream yields and awareness of how individual processes can affect downstream parameters ? Process and machine response optimisation ? Yield improvement ? Support shift engineering with necessary information/feedback. ? Monitor critical process parameters and react to out of control situations. ? Liaise with production and equipment groups ? Communicate with shift group on a regular basis ? Compliance with health and safety policy and procedures

Main tasks: ? Plan, organize and conduct experiments to optimize processes, and production performance. ? Take an active part in tool introduction and scale-up of newly developed products. ? Develop new design & testing methods to continued process improvement and yield optimization ? Product stewardship responsibilities for selecting new materials products, address any quality issues and benchmark competitors to strive for innovative solutions for competitive advantage ? Organize, schedule and execute projects in accordance with departmental priorities as well as assist in training and supervision of technicians, and other employees. ? Develop diagnostic tools to optimize process/tool performance. ? Manage SPC charts to maintain and improve process and tool capability ? Monitor yield and defect data to identify opportunities for process improvement, and find root cause to scrap,non-conforming product and yield issues and designing control plans to avoid reoccurance. ? Provide plans and actions for appropriate trials, design of experiments and optimisations. ? Initiate and implement Process Change Authorisations, production aids, and Manufacturing Process updates to support process clarification and improvement, and keep all necessary documentation up to date. ? Certify trainers and assist in their training needs ? Ensure OEE targets are met by contributing to cycletime issues when required. ? Provide thorough process OCAPs and FMEAs ? Develop data analysis skills (SQL, JMP, EXCEL,R) and use Six Sigma Methodology approach for problem solving. ? Implement qualification procedures for new tools as well as those returning to production after maintenance. ? Negotiate acceptance criteria and documents with vendors for new tools. ? Maintain up to date process knowledge and new product information. ? Create innovative solutions to product or process problems. ? Provide clear communication and presentations to Senior management when required. ? Lead and/or participate in teams to solve proceess/yield issues. ? Work with production and the equipment groups to ensure schedules are met in a challenging manufacturing environment.
