JOB DESCRIPTION – Development Manager Falkirk

Specifics of the role include:

• Working to develop and manage programmes in conjunction with Board and General Manager

• Working with a range of volunteers to achieve funders targets and Re-Union’s social aims

• Recruiting for, select, supervise and support all new projects and programmes

• Creating reports for funders

• Managing budgets

• Managing staff team and coordinate duties in conjunction with the General Manager where appropriate

• Maintaining marketing strategy

• Coordinating a range of training initiatives

• Developing an environment based on peer support and mentoring, enabling volunteers to work together to develop their skills creating a cyclical process where volunteers achieve a qualification and move onto mentoring other volunteers through the qualification process

• Developing, managing and coordinating various projects in Falkirk including lock keeping

• Coordinating volunteering opportunities between programmes within the organisation

• Coordinating the learning opportunities available within Re-Union through a complimentary programme of learning about the canal’s history, geography, wildlife and biodiversity

• Identifying development needs of volunteers and organise a range of appropriate opportunities for individual volunteers

• Liaison with referral agencies and support workers to assist the volunteers in

achieving their goals

• Supporting volunteers to move towards employment i.e. CV writing skills, self esteem and communication skills etc. where appropriate

• Create and implement a monitoring and evaluation process to record volunteer activity

• Working closely with your counterparts to monitor and assess the impact of programmes/projects

• Ensuring that all Health & Safety requirements are complied with, along with Re-Union’s equal opportunities, child and vulnerable adults, environmental and educational policies

• Working with local agencies and partnerships, community groups and community activists to investigate and develop additional programmes or projects

• Producing regular statistics and other information as required

• Working closely with your counterparts to coordinate projects as a whole.

• Participating in planning meetings and reviews

• Devising a personal work plan, prepare reports etc in liaison with the Board and Development Manager

• Any other reasonable duties required for the effective delivery of Re-Union’s social and community objectives
