One-Stop Operator Report – M. CervantesWe are currently working on the LWDB Recertification and Local Plan requirements set forth and working closely with the state to submit necessary information and or modifications. The next step is to make sure we have a complete Board. When we received the findings from DOL, SCC LWDB was lacking three positions from specific entities. One from higher education that has been filled with Dr. Perez, one from Community Development, which at the moment M. Cervantes is working to get Mr. Frank Dillion Santa Cruz County’s new Community Development Director on board and is currently in the process of getting an official recommendation letter to submit to the local SCC BOS for final approval. The last entity we are missing is the one for the Produce sector. M. Cervantes is open to any recommendations to move forward to get that position filled. As far as the One Stop Operator, Santa Cruz County will have to go thru the RFP process to get bids for the positon since the current OSO was not approved by the state. Currently M. Cervantes, together with M. Chavez, I. Olvera, have been working with local state to get the technical assistance and guidance that was never initially provided to make sure we could get the process done the correct way. M. Cervantes is asking any Board Members to volunteer to be part of the OSO procurement process committee; C. Young, V. Hetherington, and D. Sanchez volunteered and will be notified of the first meeting within the next few days.G.Board ReportsC. Young - Santa Cruz County Superintendents office is continuing with Gear up Grant and working on a CTE Program and Mentoring Program that will be implemented in the next couple of years, also working on a Mentoring Program.
