|JOB SUMMARY |

|The RN Clinical Supervisor coordinates the direct care activities of nursing staff and allied health professionals (LPN, CMA) to provide care to patients. These direct |

|care activities will improve quality, patient experience and care outcomes. The incumbent supports organizational plans and directives. He/she oversees competency based|

|educational programming for RNs and other allied health care professionals including LPNs and CMAs. |

|RN Supervisor will facilitate the development of professional values and value-based behaviors. |

| |

|The RN Clinical Supervisor is responsible to ensure all RN, LPN and CMA are clinically competent and understand their roles and responsibilities in the context of a |

|patient centered, team-based environment. The care team will deliver care in the most efficient, standardized and evidenced based process. The RN Clinical Supervisor |

|seeks collaboration and consultation with other health professionals. |

| |

|He/she will assist in the ongoing assessment of clinical education and team approaches to patient care. The incumbent will be a content expert in standardized |

|workflows. He/she will be responsible to gather/collate and evaluate data to improve practice support, quality care and clinical staff competency. |

| |

|The RN Clinical Supervisor will also perform nursing services to patients in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, telephone triage, |

|performing patient education, care coordination, assessing patient’s physical and psychological needs, administering medications, assisting providers with procedures, |

|and responding to medical emergencies. |

|MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES |

| |

|Expert clinician in the field of nursing. Provide direct care to patients, as well as coordinate care to ensure continuity and appropriateness of care. |

|Knowledge and skills of current professional nursing theory, practice and techniques. |

|Clinical / operational expert in optimal workflows, processes and standardized care models. Understands and communicates the value, necessity of optimal work flow and |

|outcomes. |

|Follows the standards of delegation. |

|In collaboration with Clinic Operations Manager, direct the work of LPNs, CMAs, RNs and other allied healthcare professionals. |

|Serve as a patient advocate. |

|Provide health and wellness education. |

|Active use of Quality/Performance improvement tools and techniques. |

|Under the direction of the Clinic Operations Manager, assess standards and scope of nursing practices to ensure clinical staff is performing at their appropriate and |

|optimal level of practice based on their position description and /or licensure. |

|In collaboration with the Clinic Operations Manager, determination of appropriate clinical staffing and skill mix. |

|In collaboration with the Clinic Operations Manager, participate in screening and selection of clinical staff. |

|Expert in concepts and practices in chronic care management. |

|Provide input into staff performance, including annual performance improvement plans and career ladder opportunities. |

|Assist in scheduling clinical staff to ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet patient care needs. |

|Participate and/or lead staff meetings to enhance interoffice and organizational communications as identified by the Clinic Operations Manager. |

|Act as a role model, exhibiting a high level of professionalism. |

|Address patient concerns as they arise. |

|Work collaboratively with Clinic Operations Manager and physician leadership to achieve and monitor organizational goals. |

|Work collaboratively with Clinic Operations Manager and physician leadership to monitor and evaluate standardized workflows and processes. |

|Provide information on continuing education programs. |

|Conduct educational programs for clinical staff as directed by the Clinic Operations Manager. |

|Actively participate in organizational committees/workgroups as directed by Clinic Operations Manager. |

|Works with teams to develop projects, programs and implement system changes that promote optimal care for individuals and populations of patients. |

|Actively participate in problem solving for clinical staff and patient care. |

|Review and evaluate needs for medical equipment and supplies. |

|Ensure timely administration and documentation of all employee health related requirements. |

|Conduct or coordinate training for patient care staff in the areas of bloodborne pathogens, universal precautions, immunizations, and other appropriate safety topics as|

|needed. |

|Provide patient care. |

|Education |Minimum |Graduate of an accredited school of nursing |

|Work Experience |Minimum |4 years clinical experience |
