Position Title:ASD Manager of Student Information System and Data ReportingReports To:Director of District TechnologyLocation:Memphis, TNPosition Description:This position manages and supports the planning, implementation, data entry, data retrieval and assessment of data collection and reporting procedures to meet ASD (Achievement School District), State, and Federal requirements. This position will report to the Office of District Technology within Tennessee Department of Education’s (TDOE) Information Systems’ division. Although this position will be required to attend meetings and trainings in Nashville each month, the primary work location will be the ASD office in Memphis. Specific Position Responsibilities:Develop procedures and direct the implementation of proper SIS (student information system) configuration, data entry, and submission of information to state data systems for all charter management organizations (CMO) and direct-managed schools in the ASDManage overall quality, completeness and timeless of ASD data reported to the Tennessee Department of Education for CMO and direct-managed schoolsSupervise SIS duties for attendance and data clerks at the ASD direct-managed schoolsSupport the implementation and provide training for school-based administrators, counselors, instructional and clerical staff on use of SIS applicationsSupport communication between ASD organization, CMO schools, direct-managed schools and other departments, parents, and staff for the purpose of providing requested student information to the Tennessee Department of EducationDevelop and provide in-service activities and procedural manuals to administrators, teachers, and clerical staff regarding reporting procedures for enrollment/attendance, average daily membership, student records, special education, and student information system applicationsMaintain data security and FERPA privacy compliance, including system user access and permissionsProvide SIS support for all ASD schools and be the liaison to state tier II or vendor supportAttend monthly TDOE IT staff meetings and SIS/EIS trainings as requiredSkills, Knowledge and AbilitiesKnowledge of Federal, State, and local student information reporting requirements for both general and special education programs Ability to supervise and work effectively with department personnel Ability to collaborate effectively with district personnel, state personnel, and other outside groupsAbility to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate program goals and initiatives High-quality decision-making and problem solving skills Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Excellent organizational and leadership skillsEducation and Experience:Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, education, or similar field of studyTwo or more years of experience working directly with school, district, or state level reporting, including submitting data to the state system and troubleshooting error reportsEducation and experience may be used in combination to meet these requirementsSalary and Benefits: Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
