Dick and Jean DeWine were married for over 65 years. Together, they helped transform the small feed business that Dick's parents started in Yellow Springs, Ohio, in the 1920s into a national and international seed company. They had two children -- a son, who died shortly after birth, and a son, Mike. Inseparable to the end, Dick and Jean died within four days of each other in the fall of 2008.

Mike DeWine is a former two-term United States Senator from Ohio. A graduate of Miami University and Ohio Northern Law School, Mike began his career in public service as the Greene County (Ohio) prosecuting attorney. He also served in the Ohio State Senate, was a four-term member of the U.S. House of Representatives, and was Ohio's Lieutenant Governor. He currently teaches college government classes and is running for Attorney General of Ohio. He and his wife Fran have been married for more than 42 years. They live in Cedarville, Ohio, and are the parents of eight children and grandparents of 12 (with the 13th on the way).

Fran DeWine is the mother of the eight DeWine children. Nothing is more important to her than her family. Fran graduated from Miami University with a degree in home economics. She has been an integral part of Mike's campaigns and public service. Over the years, she has compiled 10 cookbooks -- "DeWine Family Favorites" -- for Mike's political campaigns. She is currently working on the 11th edition. Fran is devoted to helping the poor, especially in Haiti, and is active in support of the Becky DeWine School named after Mike and Fran's late daughter, Becky. The school is located in the poorest slum in Haiti, and each year, Fran collects thousands of Christmas gifts which she sends to the children.

Patrick DeWine is Mike and Fran's oldest son. He graduated from Miami University and Michigan Law School. Until being elected in 2008 as a Hamilton County (Ohio) Common Pleas Judge, he worked as an attorney at the law firm of Keating Muething & Klekamp in Cincinnati. He also served as a Hamilton County Commissioner and as a member of the Cincinnati City Council. He currently resides in Cincinnati, and has three sons -- Michael, Matthew, and Brian.

Jill Darling is Mike and Fran's oldest daughter. She and her husband, Bill, live in Worthington, Ohio. She graduated from Miami University with degrees in communication and political science. She is dedicated to raising their six children -Albert, Isabelle, David, Caroline, Justin and Mary. Bill is the director of assistive technology of Ohio, a non-profit agency located at The Ohio State University (OSU) that helps people with disabilities acquire the technology they need to live independently. He graduated from Miami University and received his Ph.D. in rehabilitation education from OSU.

Becky DeWine is Mike and Fran's third child. She graduated from the College of Wooster in 1993, with a degree in English. She planned to be a journalist before her tragic death in an automobile accident just months after her college graduation.

John DeWine, Mike and Fran's fourth child, and his wife Michele run an organic farm in Yellow Springs, Ohio, called Flying Mouse Farms. John graduated from Miami University and went on to receive his Ph.D. in restoration ecology from Colorado State University. Michele is the associate director of the Tecumseh Land Trust and graduated from the University of Kentucky and then received her Master's in natural resource management from Colorado State University. John and Michele live in Yellow Springs with their two daughters -- Josephine Jean and Rebecca.

Brian DeWine, the fifth DeWine child, will be the new president of the Asheville Tourists. He and his wife, Kali, have been living in Chattanooga, Tenn., where he has served as the ticket manager for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga athletic department. He has a degree in marketing from Clemson University and a Master's in sport management from OSU. Kali also graduated from Clemson and received a degree in business management. She currently serves as the director of marketing and development at the Montessori School in Chattanooga. Their daughter, Kathryn Becky, died before birth from a rare genetic disease. They are expecting a baby boy at the end of January. The family will be moving to Asheville.

Alice DeWine is the sixth child of Mike and Fran. She currently is a Greene County (Ohio) assistant prosecuting attorney. She graduated from both Miami University and Ohio Northern Law School. She lives in Yellow Springs and is engaged to be married in May 2010 to Nick Dudukovich, who graduated from Kent State with a degree in history and is working on his Master's in journalism also from Kent State.

Mark DeWine, the seventh DeWine child, graduated from the College of Wooster in May 2009, with a degree in English. He currently is living in Memphis, Tenn., where he is teaching geography to seventh grade students, as a part of Teach for America.

Anna DeWine, the youngest DeWine child, is a senior at Cedarville High School in Cedarville, Ohio. She runs both track and cross country and is a cheerleader. This past fall, her classmates elected her to be Homecoming Queen. Anna loves to write and is considering a college major in English. She is currently filling out college admission applications.
