Careers in Computing

Careers in Computing Noland Woodman, Branden Stull, John MenoCS 101A software engineer is a skilled professional focused on the design and creation of software. They are highly trained in programming languages such as Java, C++, and Visual Basic. They tend to interact with both business functions and programmers; Software Engineers should have communication skills and should enjoy working as part of a team, as well as on their own initiative. They will often have to explain business functions to programmers and technology that relates to non-technical business managers. The Software Engineer job is to design, execute, and troubleshoot software programs and applications. This includes configuring, coding, developing, and documenting software throughout the project. The Software Engineer will also oversee system startups in an accurate fashion, and provide support to other departments where they need it. The requirements of a software engineer are they need to know basic business functions, have an understanding of design methodology, and communication skills. They also need education is requires at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Software Engineers may write code may not, although most do. There are only a few society memberships for a software engineer one is called IEEE also known as institute of electrical and electronics engineers and also TCSE or known as team center system engineering. These memberships help society in education and special needs children. They also help people find jobs for the fields in which they pursue. After 3-5 years of experience most software engineers are promoted to a senior software engineers. The way to become a senior software engineers is by the person’s interest in the job or skills within the job. Systems analysts design new computer systems or update existing ones. They are responsible for networking an organization’s computers. Systems analysts analyze scientific, engineering and business problems for application to electronic data processing systems. Because systems analysts typically work on a particular company’s computers, they can often have experience that is related to that company’s field. Duties and responsibilities as well as job titles for computer-related workers change often as new areas are developed and technology evolves. Therefore, it is necessary to constantly stay updated on current trends and new opportunities within the field of Information Technology.Employment is expected to increase much faster than average and more new jobs are expected to open at a high rate.Very good job prospects are expected as organizations continue to invent increasingly sophisticated technologies. Some potential jobs in the field of a system analyst are Telecommunications, Companies, Government Agencies, Accounting Firms, and Computer Software and Equipment Companies. Employers generally seek college graduates who have a degree in computer science, information science, information systems, or data processing. Since technology continues to advance and evolve, it is important to continue education and study. Often employers will offer additional training on systems and software.Systems analysts play an important role in merging business skills and computer know-how. Few have these skill sets, so those that do are in high demand. You also need to have good communication skills and the ability to explain technical subjects to non-technical individuals.Application developers design build and trial the software that makes computers complete different tasks. They pilot the logic that transfers the computing system functionally. The future of this job is they could move on to become a project manager or director of information position and could even move on to careers in system design or technical consulting. Training requirements include a bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering or equal. The skills needed for the job include showing an applied knowledge of application programming, and assorted experience with computing systems and technologies. Memberships include software memberships, designing software memberships, and computer technology memberships these would all be helpful to an application developer because he can work on software from his home and work on computer easier. Society offers members the ability to work from home and develop software from their homes. ................
