2018 ISAC BOARD OF DIRECTORS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ELECTED

West Des Moines, IA — Lonny Pulkrabek, Johnson County Sheriff, will serve as the 2018 President of the Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC). President Pulkrabek’s term as President began on January 1, 2018. He and other members of the ISAC Board of Directors and Executive Committee were sworn in by Retired Johnson County Attorney and ISAC Past President J. Patrick White during the association’s January board meeting in West Des Moines.

President Pulkrabek began working in the Johnson County Jail in 1985 as a deputy sheriff. He was first elected as sheriff in 2004 taking office in January 2005. He is currently serving his fourth term. He has served on the ISAC Board of Directors since 2013 and is an active member of the Iowa State Sheriffs’ and Deputies’ Association (ISSDA). He served as ISSDA President in 2017. President Pulkrabek lives in rural Iowa city with his wife Julie, who is an attorney in Iowa City. They have one son, Sam, who resides in Cedar Rapids.

Members of the 2018 ISAC Executive Committee are: President – Lonny Pulkrabek, Johnson County Sheriff; 1st Vice President – Eric Stierman, Dubuque County Treasurer; 2nd Vice President – Burlin Matthews, Clay County Supervisor; and 3rd Vice President – Wayne Reisetter, Dallas County Attorney. Executive committee members are chosen by the ISAC Board of Directors and serve a one-year term.

There are 22 county officials that comprise the 2018 ISAC Board of Directors. Board members are chosen by their affiliate and serve on the ISAC Board until they are replaced by their affiliate. The primary responsibilities of board members include developing and monitoring the ISAC strategic plan, setting legislative priorities, and recommending ISAC’s budget.
