CHR/InterVista 1984 – present

Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer

Founder and CEO of this training and development consulting firm, specializing in human capital development, organizational renewal and leadership practices. The firm has led organizational renewal projects, implemented human capital programs and devised leadership education programs for over 200 organizations in all 50 states and 10 foreign countries. Also, designed and developed five accreditation courses for the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Current projects include:

- The complete design and development of the Strategic Master Plan for the College of the Marshall Islands, leading to full accreditation and funding

- The development of an online healthcare leadership program for strategic partners of Bank of America.

- The comprehensive design of an organizational development program for a major healthcare system and medical consortium in Maryland

- The delivery of needs-specific management education programs and strategic planning for the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center System

Seton Hall University 1988 – 2004

University Director of Planning and Development

University officer responsible for the development of the University’s Sesquicentennial Strategic Plan. Led the effort to create the master strategic plan for the University’s eleven academic divisions and affiliated entities. Devised and led the process of evaluation, participation and communication with all key university stakeholders including the employees, faculty, alumni, students and leadership team.

The Strategic plan was ratified by the University’s governing bodies including the Board of Regents as the centerpiece for strategic planning, fund raising, capital projects and executive initiatives.

Director – Graduate Programs in Communication and Leadership

Led the development and management of the University’s largest academic graduate community – graduate communications and leadership. Responsible for the development of the curricula, recruitment and retention of students, faculty development and all administrative support systems.

- Created and led the largest online graduate program, Masters in Strategic Communications and Leadership which has received plaudits for graduate publications including US News and World Report and InfoWorld.

- Created and led the MAGIS program which provides continuing education, community development and internship support to a wide array of non-profit community organizations.

- Academic Director for the on-campus graduate communications program (Masters in Corporate and Public Communications).

- The online graduate programs grew over 500% during tenure as Director, becoming the largest graduate program at Seton Hall.

Bristol-Myers Corporation 1982 – 1984

Director of Professional Development

Recruited to lead the professional development activities of this $20B pharmaceutical and health care firm. Designed and implemented programs used organization-wide for employee relations, management development, organization renewal, employee recruitment and retention, workplace stress, health and welfare programs and team building.

Program management encompassed North American, Caribbean and European operations. The programs were recognized internally by the Office of the CEO for progressiveness and impact and externally cited by the American Society of Training and Development.

American Hospital Supply Corporation 1980 - 1982

Eastern Director – Human Resources

Solely responsible for the development and leadership of all aspects of the human resources management department in eight major cities for an employee staff of 1500. Developed and implemented comprehensive recruitment and retention programs, promotion and recognition systems, employee appraisal systems and leadership development programs. Established an accredited on-site educational program for employees.

Faculty Experience:

Senior Faculty Associate 1988 - 2004

Department of Communication

Taught a range of graduate communication courses in both the on-campus and on-line graduate programs. Averaged fifteen contact credits per semester. Student evaluations were consistently ranked in the upper 2% of all University faculty. Developed four new graduate courses for both the on-line and on-campus modalities. Designed and delivered the University’s first cross-cultural communications and awareness program for all faculty, staff and employees. Member of numerous committees including search committees for new faculty and Dean positions. Advised several student service organizations as well as the Department of Athletics and the Division of Student Affairs.

Faculty Associate 1978 – 1988

Taught graduate courses at Fordham University, including Organizational Behavior, Organizational Theory, Strategic Planning and Change, and Professional Development. Also have taught and designed communication, management and leadership courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level at Stevens Institute of Technology, Monmouth University, the University of Maryland, the University of Scranton, Centenary College, Syracuse University, LeMoyne College, Middlesex County College and Coastal Carolina Community College.
