VECTRA 3D a Leader in Clinical Research

Fairfield, NJ – June 1, 2010 – 3D imaging is everywhere these days, including leading edge clinical research. Plastic Surgeons studying a wide range of medical procedures are turning to three dimensional photography to document the results of their work. And in study after study, the system of choice is the VECTRA 3D from Canfield Imaging Systems.

This year alone, VECTRA has been named in three separate studies published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the official peer reviewed journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS):

• January, 2010 - Nolan S. Karp, M.D. et al; “Mammometrics: The Standardization of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery”

• May, 2010 - Alexander S. Donath, M.D., Robert A. Glasgold, M.D., Mark J. Glasgold, M.D..et al; “Quantitative Evaluation of Volume Augmentation in the Tear Trough with Hyaluronic Acid-Based Filler: A Three-Dimensional Analysis”

• June, 2010 – Michael I. Kulick, M.D., D.D.S.; “Evaluation of a Noninvasive, Dual-Wavelength Laser-Suction and Massage Device for the Regional Treatment of Cellulite”

In the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery:

• January, 2010 - A.R. Sawyer, M.D., M. See, M.D., C. Nduka, M.D.; “Quantitative Aalysis of Normal smile with 3D stereophotogrammetry – An Aid to Facial Reanimation”

In The Aesthetic Surgery Journal, the official peer reviewed journal of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS):

• March, 2010 - Gordon H. Sasaki, M.D., “Quantification of Human Abdominal Tissue Tightening and Contraction After Component Treatments With 1064-nm/1320-nm Laser-Assisted Lipolysis – Clinical Implications”

These studies underscore the growing importance of 3D imaging in clinical research as well as the scope of applications. In each, VECTRA 3D photography plays a key role in providing the objective data that is fundamental to clinical research projects. The technology developed by Canfield is also widely used in aesthetic simulation, evaluation, surgical planning and documentation. VECTRA is available from Canfield Imaging Systems, Fairfield, NJ and from a global network of distributors.
