Life in a Nursing Home

By LeRoy and Delores Donnay

A peaceful place to sit and rest, We try to smile and do our best. We say our prayers and hope to see, Today will bring some company. The rooms are clean and food is good, Would use some salt if we could. The staff is great, they aim to please,

Always planning activities. A quick little nap then Happy Hour, The popcorn and beer give us power.

Bingo has been a favorite game, If we don't win the caller's to blame.

After a long busy day We're tired and weary, Just as the day grows dark and dreary. It's off to bed and time to pray, That we may see another day.

LeRoy is a resident of our long term care and his wife Delores is a volunteer for GRHS. They wrote this poem about living in our nursing home. The poem was then submitted and published in the

Senior Perspective newspaper.
