PASC Aligns Work of Global Standards Groups with Safety and Security as Themes (July 6, 2005)

A delegation of the American National Standards Institute attended the 28th meeting of the Pacific Area Standards Congress (PASC) June 21-23, 2005 in Nagoya, Japan as part of continuing outreach efforts with regional standards-related organizations. PASC serves as a forum to strengthen international standardization programs for nations in the Asia-Pacific region.

A new web-based e-mail subscription service from the Department of Commerce offers comprehensive, up to date information on proposed foreign technical regulations that can affect U.S. standards developers, businesses and industries and their access to international markets.

ANSI Collaborates with SES Annual Conference Through Education Course and Key Speakers (July 7, 2005)

ANSI will offer a training course on international standards development in conjunction with the SES 54th Annual Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, August 15-16, 2005. The SES conference, entitled “Standards – Pillars for Success,” will also feature a keynote address by Dr. Mark W. Hurwitz, CAE, ANSI’s president and CEO.
