MindMatters (Australian Government)

MindMatters is a national mental health initiative for secondary schools funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. The MindMatters resources support Australian secondary schools to promote and protect the mental health and wellbeing of school community members. There are numerous activities on bullying that could be adapted for Primary age students. The booklets ‘Dealing with bullying and harassment’ and ‘Enhancing resilience’ are particularly useful.

Cybersmart (Australian Government)

Developed by the Australian Communications and Media Authority, Cybersmart is part of the Australian Government’s cybersafety program. The website provides activities, resources and practical advice to help young kids, teens and parents safely enjoy the online world. Cybersmart also offers training and resources for schools and materials for library staff.

Johnson and Johnson Body wise book



A useful resource replacing the Johnson and Johnson kit that each school was sent in the early 1990’s. Great resource for teaching puberty.

Kids Helpline

Kids Helpline is a free 24 hour counselling service for Australian kids and young people aged 5-25 years. Support can be accessed via the phone, email or web. Web counselling allows the child to connect one-on-one, in real time, with a Kids Helpline counsellor.

Net Alert (Australian Government)



NetAlert is part of the Australian Government’s ongoing commitment to providing a safe online environment for all families, especially children. It links to the Cybersmart website.

Cyber bullying (Victorian Government)



This website has been developed to help schools make the most out the opportunities provides by the internet and at the same time minimise risks. It includes sections on whole school planning, a cybersafe classroom, online privacy, digital copyright and the school website.

REDI (Australian Government)

The REDI resources contain helpful information and teaching aids for parents and teachers designed to support the nurturing of children’s wellbeing, in particular drug-related harm. It also includes the resource social emotional competencies.
