FOOD SERVICE SECRETARY

(Food Service Department)

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Possess a valid Indiana driver’s license.

3. Ability to apply computer knowledge in Excel, Word and database usage.

4. Ability to solve practical problems and deal effectively with a variety of variables.

5. Ability to work effectively with others.

6. Commitment to the team concept and a strong work ethic.

7. Working knowledge of menus, payroll, inventories, and food ordering processing.

8. Effective office skills in typing, writing, filing and listening.

9. Ability to learn “Meal Time” point of sale lunch operation.

REPORTS TO: Director of Food Services

SALARY: $12.00 - $13.19 on experience with benefits

CONTRACTED DAYS: 210 days - approximately thirty (30) hours a week or as needed

11 absence days and 6 holidays

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Organize free and reduced program. Process free and reduce applications, approvals, denial, notification, verification and direct certification.

2. Maintains applications and required documentation for free and reduce lunch program for compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies.

3. Collect payroll information, check for accuracy, enter into RDS system, and print reports for Accounts Payable.

4. Troubleshoot point of sales “Meal Time” software.

5. Process online “Meal Time” applications.

6. Process online school lunch money transfers.

7. Effectively process, prints, and distribute pre-approved menus to schools and website.

8. Process pre-approved weekly food and supply orders for schools.

9. Share responsibilities in food service office when needed.

10. Work in kitchens on an emergency basis.

11. Assume responsibilities for the food service office, especially in case of an emergency.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger and to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may also have to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
