Downtown

Downtown Kalamazoo is known as "Central City" and is supported by a strong and vibrant Downtown Development Authority. The first Friday evening of each month the downtown is buzzing with people enjoying the Art Hop, celebrating many of the great Kalamazoo artists who display throughout the downtown area. The Kalamazoo Public Library is stellar and won the Library of the Year award in 2002. The Kalamazoo Art Institute, the Civic Auditorium, several small theatres and the WMU Miller Auditorium ensure that the arts maintain a strong place in Kalamazoo life.

Greater Kalamazoo and Portage
