The Salina Journal, June 30, 1969

No mention is made that this Marguerite Sundgren was ever a teacher. The Junior High Lights for our 7th and 8th grades do show a Marguerite Sundgren as an English teacher (she even signed the photo of her in my 8th grade High Lights). Perhaps she taught for only a couple of years and it didn’t seem note-worthy in an obituary 50 years later. But it is not absolutely certain that this obituary is for our teacher of the same name.

The Social Security Death Index has a Marguerite Sundgren with the birth and death dates identical to those in this obituary, but having died in Phoenix. (The obituary doesn’t give a location at death.) Her Social Security number was 504-32-0729 and issued in Kansas.
